Best Scene Changes

That final transition in the play "The Mountaintop" when the set splits and Bassett delivered that powerful monologue left me jaw dropped.

Re: Best Scene Changes

I think my favorite of all time is The House of the Dead at the Met. Curtain didn't even come down between the acts. Stunning and I pray for a revival soon: a true coup de théâtre.

Best Scene Changes

In the last revival of Hello Dolly when we changed from the rustic Yonkers feed store to the vibrant pastel palette of New York City for Put On Your Sunday Clothes. Santo Loquasto's scenic and costume design literally brought me to tears every time I saw it.

Best Scene Changes

The set change from the apartment to the hospital in Mary Jane at MTC really took me by surprise. Video from reddit here

Druid did a production of "Sive" in Ireland about 10 years ago. At one point, a huge mirror hanging high above the stage tilts slightly to reveal Sive's body floating in a pool of water. I remember thinking at the time, it was one of the most thrilling pieces of staging I've ever seen and so simply done. The designer, Francis O'Connor, included a photo of the moment on his website which I've (hopefully) linked below

The wood reveal in the London production of Into The Woods is rather spectacular.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

That was nothing short of glorious! I also got a bit choked up. I felt transported back in time to Broadway productions back in the day. That whole show was beautiful to look at.
