Grosses a bit lower than week before but at 813k it is most likely still above the show’s weekly nugget. Go Betty!

I doubt Gilpin is getting a huge salary, so grossing ~$700k a week would keep the show afloat.

Hopefully she gets a bonus or a percentage of the grosses in addition to her base salary since she is the lead.

McCarthy would be great. Seems like a bigger get than they're capable of, though. Is this really the buzz that's going around?

A few months ago when she came to see the show there was some buzz, but I don't think there's anything to it. If Mary! is doing as well as it is with Gilpin I don't think they need to get a huge name after she leaves. The show being the draw is probably better for it in the long run.

I think that's the goal and the reason why they changed the marketing to simply OH MARY! (removing the portrait of Cole Escola as Mary.)

anyone with addtional news about why those 3 performances in June (monday the 16th thru wednesday the 18th) have been taken offsale and now deemed as 'special performances' per telecharge??!!?

that's what i'm hoping for....... and with Cole, Conrad and James returning for at least those 3 dates

Can someone explain to me just how partial most of the balcony seats are? And if there are some that I should absolutely stay away from and others that are totally fine? I couldn't find it in other threads/pages, but please feel free to point me to anything that already exists with that info. After losing the lottery on repeat, it looks like I'll be buying tickets to see Betty before she goes. Thanks in advance.

Get the PV house right orch.  The best seats. The left you will miss anything on the couch.

I second this. Best seats for the price - all you miss is one or two quick moments involving a bookcase.

I've seen the show a few times, mostly from balcony. You have a perfect view from there and can see everything and it doesn't even feel so far from the action. Even the tickets marked as partial view are excellent. Basically, sit wherever in balcony they are all good seats.

Thanks for writing a real review, Quisking! I've only been able to find stuff like "Betty is amazing, Betty is great " which isn't very helpful. Fascinating that it's so much faster. Reminds me of Patti replacing in Master Class and cutting off ten minutes because she spoke faster than Zoe Caldwell."

I watched it last night and it was also roughly 70 mins. It started at around 7:37pm and curtain call at 8:46pm.  It's my first time seeing Betty Gilpin perform as Mary and she is very funny and I can see why she replaced Cole. Very happy for her. I loved her audition as the Nurse. I'm not sure if it's the dress but Betty looked very tall (I sat in orch partial view). I thought they might change her line to say "people travelled the world over for my long legs and short medleys..." but they didn't and that's fine. For folks who have never seen Oh Mary before I think the play is fine and they'll come out of the theater thinking it's funny.

I sat on the left and don't remember missing anything on the couch.  Maybe it gets down to the seat.  Either way, I remember thinking extreme right would be better, because there is really nothing occurring far stage right because there is a bookcase rather than an occupied chair/sofa.
