...and at the same time switching places to place names in for the lottery?
There's nothing wrong with switching off, I've done it and had people around me do it all the time on rush lines. As long as you're "running to Starbucks, be right back" and you're back in 15 min or so, and not "running to Starbucks, be right back" and then you return three hours later or something, I've never seen switching off be a big deal.
But re: the quoted above, I was going to say that based on what I saw yesterday (random aside: FINALLY won that lotto and saw the show for the first time!), the folks running the lotto appear to actually bring lotto slips to the SRO line to fill out? So there wasn't a need to be switching out or whatever, everyone on the SRO line entered the lotto.

I'm surprised they let people stand in the line and do lotto at the same time. At Wicked if you are in the cancellation line and win lotto you get disqualified.

You'd also be disqualified at Mormon if you're in the cancellation line and have your name in the lotto; in fact I watched numerous people get warned they could not even wait in the lobby during the lotto, or else they would be considered to be de facto on the cancellation line and their name would be thrown out if they won the lotto.
You are, however, allowed to be in both the SRO line and the lotto at Mormon.

Posted: 7/4/11 at 4:21pmI didn't know they have a SRO line in addition to a cancellation line. My bad.

Posted: 7/4/11 at 4:58pmIs there a limit to how many tickets a single person can get? Or is there a 1 per person max?
#34Book of Mormon Cancellation line
Posted: 7/5/11 at 12:12pmThe cancellation line had people waiting for all different numbers of tickets. One lady bought four. In SRO, it's a different story. I believe it's two per person in that line.

Posted: 7/5/11 at 12:21pmCorrect, SRO is 2 tickets per person.

My friend and I are planning on trying the SRO line on Sunday for the mat. (HI KEVIN!) If anyone has any suggestions on what time we should get there they would be greatly appreciated.

Posted: 7/8/11 at 11:12pmI arrived at 5 pm last Saturday (July 4th weekend) for the 8 pm show and was fourth in line. I ended up with Orchestra row L, center. As a fun extra, I saw that Jane Lynch was at the show as well, Orchestra right, down front.

Posted: 7/9/11 at 12:45amIf tickets were premium, do they cost premium prices if they're sold in the cancellation line?
#43Book of Mormon Cancellation line
Posted: 7/9/11 at 11:31amThe box office will offer premium seats to the cancellation line (at premium prices) as they come in - but once it's close to curtain time - they sell what they have for $155. However, as I stood in the cancellation line, I witnessed several premium seats sold at $477 a pop to those willing to pay it. No need to do that though.

Posted: 10/29/11 at 12:24amMy folks are in town, and I want to stand in the cancellation line to get them tickets tomorrow. I just want to confirm that it is possible for one person in the cancellation line to purchase multiple tickets, even if the rest of his party is not present in the line. I'm talking cancellation, not standing room. Just want to make sure if I go stand in line for several hours to get them tix that I won't be told "one or two cancellation tickets per person in line." Anyone know for sure? Thanks!!

Posted: 10/29/11 at 12:31amYou can buy however many cancelation tickets they're willing to sell you. There are no limits on that like there are for rush.

Has anyone tried the cancellation line recently? I'm guessing it's not as crazy after the cast changes and the current time of year.
What's the best day/time to go? And do they usually sell house seats for $155?

Posted: 10/9/12 at 6:28pmI got tickets through the cancellation line on a Saturday, was there an hour before the lottery and was the first one in line for cancellations. Luckily I only waited two minutes before the BO person called me over. We sat orch center in K (same day matinee), paying sticker, but not premium.

Posted: 10/9/12 at 9:41pmThere is no guarantee. I was there about a month ago. We waited over an hour but got row L center orch tickets. Well worth the wait.

Posted: 10/10/12 at 12:24amShubert, Nederlander and Jujamcyn all use computer pricing model software at the box office. At THE BOOK OF MORMON, if that $477 premium seat hasn't sold close to curtain time, the computer automatically knocks the price down to $155. The box office staff has no say over seat prices.
