The Lortel was home to MCC for many years- their productions were full fledged. Danny and the Deep Blue Sea was just there. It is not at all a barebones space."
Oooh! My bad I’m getting it confused with the venue off 42! Never mind.

Oh, the Laurie Beechman? Yeah, that’s a purely cabaret venue, comparable to 54 Below.

OHMAC for preview performances through 2/7 takes $10 off, but also reduces seats in the first 2 rows to $52, which are still available on Sunday 2/4 at 5:30p.
Oh, this was very funny. I’m still thinking about Cole’s performance and, especially, facial expressions. Great writing and performances all around. Conrad was excellent. I might even call this a must-see.
Thank you all for the recs - just saw this and so glad I did. Such fun! I would advise folks not to sit in the mezz (except front row) as it’s not very raked. I was in the second row and had trouble seeing around the folks in front of me.
My assumption was correct. This was an absolute HOOT! I ended up in the last row of the mezzanine but since I’m tall, I didn’t have a problem. Ricamora also puts his whole foot into the comedy and, having only seen him in dramatic roles (he was the foil in Fire Island - so I don’t count that), this was refreshing and surprising.
Im not giving away anything because to do so would ruin the numerous jokes that, when heard in context, are knock the wind out of you level of funny.
This is gonna be a hard get in the very near future. Rush this morning was already quite difficult

I'm giving this one a must-see! It's Titanique meets Which Way to the Stage meets POTUS. It's very camp, very tongue-in-cheek, and very funny. Cole Escola proves to be a comedic genius and everyone understands the genre they're working in. Don't wait for the reviews - going in blind was a perfect experience for this type of show.
Like the mezzanine, the orchestra isn't well raked so there's definitely some head-dodging, but I would still recommend the cheaper seats in the far sides (I anticipate the TodayTix rush to get harder and harder). An extension seems likely given the excellent word-of-mouth and presumably positive reviews next week, but I wouldn't delay buying tickets.
After all the excitement over this show on this board, I went ahead a few days ago and filled the last remaining slot of my March trip with it. (over Teeth, a return to Sweeney with the new leads, and several of the new Broadway musicals, none of whose scores have captivated me). Now I read every new post with fear and anxiety. I know someone will eventually burst the bubble, but so far it seems like I made the right decision!
BTW, since it's out so early and so close to Marie's Crisis, we thought we'd try that out for the first time. How is it these days (Thursday night)? Is there a better option to consider for the same kind of post-show activity in the West Village?
Caught this earlier than anticipated, so got to use the discount code mentioned earlier, and had a great time. Inadvertently saw three alcohol-related shows (White Chip before, Days of Wine and Roses after), but such a blast at this one.

See the Saturday, 8:30pm show and when you leave you'll get the "Alcoholic Youth of NYU" show for free.
But it was worth trawling through the drunken hordes for Escola's show. It's fantastic.
Not only was Cole great, but the whole cast. I was particularly impressed with James Scully who managed to do both sexy and deranged perfectly. I think this actually had at least 5 laughs a minute from start to finish. Very stupid, very funny, can’t recommend enough.
Can I make the 5 pm performance after seeing THE OUTSIDERS at the Jacobs? I have high-tailed it after a musical down to Union Square for TITANIQUE with no problem. Would this be similar?
not sure of outsiders running time, but you can take 2/3 express to 14, transfer across platform to 1, one stop to christopher and about a 3-4 min walk from train to theatre.

A little Cole Escola goes a long way for me (especially after "Search Party") but I have been in love with James Scully since "You." Exactly *how* sexy and deranged is he?
