Though I can't say I'd be surprised, I really hope that's not the case.

Wow, that is unfortunate. Can't say I'm not too surprised though.

Oh, I hope not; it's too soon, and I wanted to go to the last performance, and if it closes the first I can't.

Hmm, I wonder if this is true
It seems very likely, but that would really be too bad
If only they waited another week and I could've seen it again...

Not suprising, but that's a shame.
Good luck to the cast and crew.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I'm definitely going to the closing performance.

And once again, within 6 months of winning the Tony, the Best Revival closes.

*weeps*
Stupid tourists don't know what they're missing. They flock to Beauty and the Beast and Wicked while Company dies a slow, miserable death.

That's a shame. And it's a shame we'll never know how the show would have done with a better/more aggressive ad campaign.
"She sang each word, the angels heard ... They closed her mouth and shipped her south. The woman's done."

Give them a week. It'll make some money.

I know it's by no means official, but the Telecharge site is only selling tickets up to July 1st now.
It's a shame the show didn't have a longer run, but it really seems to have struck a chord with a lot of people along the way.

Call the understudy / I can't go on tonight / I'm drinking with my buddy / I'm getting good and tight / Before they raise the curtain I'll be higher than a kite / So call the understudy
I can't go on tonight

Aaaaand there it goes. Jesus but that's depressing. And 'Phantom Of The Opera' has been running how long now?
Here's hoping that vague rumour of a West End transfer comes to fruition, I'm so very VERY thankful I got to see the show back in March, and I would wish the cast the best of luck with their future endeavours but they're all so phenomenally talented that I'm sure I don't need to.
I may or may not go and cry now...

I'm so sad!! My tickets are for 7/13 and it was going to be the highlight of my trip. SHOOT!!! AND my Tivo erased the Tony's because I didn't set the thing to 'Keep Until I Delete'. DAMN IT!!

...finally. Not surprising, as many have said, but what another blow for Esparza and the cast. Just goes to show that you joy is short-lived before the pain comes.
