One night only! Sep 12. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/13/theater/cynthia-erivo-and-joshua-henry-to-star-in-last-five-years-benefit.html?smid=tw-nytimestheater&smtyp=cur
Wait a minute. WHAT. I WAS SAYING I WANTED EXACTLY THIS TO HAPPEN. This is literally something I dreamcast. I'm not even joking right now. It was exactly this. Did someone read my mind???
Wow. Forget about Bette Midler and Jake Gyllenhaal, this just became my top must-see event of the theatre season.

!!!!! I wonder how much tickets will be
I love that Jason Robert Brown said he's been thinking about this ever since his London concert last May - she was absolutley electric that night and I'm sure will be even more so in the show itself. Since Lift I would never pass on an opportunity to hear Miss Erivo sing anything (with maybe the exception of I Can't Sing). New York you're a very lucky city..

Egads!!! Please stop announcing these one night only concerts. Or let me win the lottery
everyone says this about every one-night-only concert, but I WANT A RECORDING OF THIS! i know it won't happen but I would love it so much. Just the thought of Cynthia singing "I'm Still Hurting"...ughhhh.
I want to go so badly! Please make a recording!!!!
She's so talented. It'll be nice to see her in something that's actually good.
Praying to the theatre god if there ever was one that this gets recorded, as I unfortunately cannot attend. Holy lord, this will be quite the event. Gasped when I read the headline.

Both Jason Robert Brown and Cynthia Erivo are scheduled to appear at Elsie Fest on September 5th. I hope we get a preview. That would be amazing.
I need to see this somehow. When do tickets go on sale??
Crossing fingers I can get tickets to this.
Brilliant! See, THIS is the only reason I hate not being in NY...Monday night gigs. Waaaaah!
HOLY SH*T.
Tickets go on sale next Wednesday and start at $50.

Two great powerhouses! Excited for this!
As much as I want to hear her outside of the Color Purple, which I love and plan to see again, I will totally skip this. Not a fan of this score. Even with these two amazing talents I still won't like it.

Im so excited for this. I hope I can snag tickets. The announcement said tickets would go on sale wed aug 18. Wed is the 17th. Im going to guess they mean Wed but it was worth noting.
JRB sent an email to his mailing list today saying Wednesday the 17th so yeah it's probably that and the 18th was a typo.

The Color Purple is amazing, the Scottsboro Boys was amazing, I cannot WAIT for this. They are both powerhouses in every show. There was no tickets on Ticketmaster that I could find for this. Tickets are available on the venue's website and by calling next Wednesday. Brilliant casting.

Not exactly a Shiksa Goddess but looking forward to seeing Erivo in another role

The venue, Town Hall, offers membership with advance ticket access. Lowest level is $250. Don't know if there are other presale opportunities.

Why not? Is Cynthia Erivo Jewish? She's certainly a Goddess.
