New opening night is set for mid-November. (Not sure about when previews start.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Based on this, it looks like the filming is very well done. I'm still so on the fence about seeing this live on my November trip after listening to the cast album. I have one slot let that I'm looking to fill. I will be watching this tomorrow and that will determine whether or not to buy a ticket or not.

I didn't listen to the cast-album yet, but will definitely watch the show on Netflix tomorrow! I really love her voice and how she plays with it! AMAZING! Can't wait to see more!
Watching now. It's, at times, insensitive and trashy. At other times, hilarious and charming. And at other times, just plain awful. And yet - I'm loving every minute of it and enjoying quite a few of the songs.

Just finished watching this. At time times genuinely sincere, touching, and heartbreaking and at other moments pure over the top camp, this show definitely runs the gamut. Jeanna De Waal is a star, and "I Will" was definitely my favorite number in the show. The show moves at breakneck speed, which isn't always to its advantage. All in all, it a very fun show to watch from the comfort of your own home despite it's flaws.

Watching now. I think it plays much better in person and, as is the case with any filmed musical without an audience, it does lose something. But so far i am really enjoying it.
So my only complaint is the lyric changes to “The Dress”. I don’t understand why they had to change anything. This is released for streaming - why would they even want to submit it to the MPAA for a rating?
Hopefully someone can use the cast recording and make an edit to the filmed version. *shrug*
It's not as bad as the trailer made it out to be, its trashy in a lifetime movie kind of way (and just as accurate) but it is entertaining.
There's some nice ideas and moments in there but it lacks someone to play off of Diana, it needs a synical evita style narrative to go alongside her. It's way too much poor saint Diana, like a fan fiction type thing.
Some amazing quick changes too.
It's an easy watch on Netflix, but definitely not something I'd want to pay over $100 for to see live

I agree. Its nothing incredibly deep, nor artistic, but its entertaining. Its a production that will be sold on performances and Jeanna de Waal gives a great one, but I don't know if its a must see.
I don't know if this will succeed on Broadway, but it is interesting the first 2 of the first 3 new musicals to reopen are about women being screwed over by the British monarchy.
