Darren Criss and Helen J Shen Will Lead MAYBE HAPPY ENDING on Broadway — Page 2

Michael Arden is easily one of the best directors working in musical theatre right now, and certainly the best at creating stunning imagery. There are stage pictures from Spring Awakening burned in my mind, and Once On This Island's "Rain" sequence features one of my favorite pieces of stagecraft. His name alone has got me interested.

His name is far more a draw for me than Darren Criss. But, no, right now I don't find it terribly intriguing.

I’m excited!!! I don’t know much about this show but I hope it finds an audience here in NYC.

It seems the target audience is Gen Z for this, no? The same stands for R&J. I feel I'm too old for both of these upcoming shows, and I'm in my very early 40s.

I'm 30 and I feel the same way

Glad to say I've been able to retain a sense of childlike wonder, because I don't feel too old for anything, and I'll be 54 on Friday. This looks pretty magical to me, and I'm looking forward to it.
As far as whether or not it will be a hit or a flop, I couldn't care less. As long as I get to experience it, and enjoy it, or not, it's none of my concern if people want to make or lose money producing it.

I agree. This looks magical to me. That video alone makes me want to experience it.

Do you think this will last until March 2025? Planning on doing a 2 show day with Love Life and Maybe Happy Ending

Thank you!

The music is stunning and gorgeous... this marketing however is doing them ZERO favors. Especially considering it's being done by AKA I believe. It's reading phoned in. I'm looking at this marketing and honestly hating it. It tells me nothing.
I also have hesitations about a role that is written to be incredibly Asian is being filled by... Darren Criss. Who is part Filipino. And reads very white. In a musical, set in Korea... (Hate me all you want for this, not going to change my mind...)
This show is wonderful if its the same it was in Atlanta. I just don't want it to die a painful death.

Their ticket prices are ridiculous.

Sure, or it could be a huge hit. Voter already said that March is when they CAN see it.

That's a Jeffrey Richards show for you. These ticket prices aren't worth the price for one star.

$75 - $100 for the last rows of the Belasco balcony is just offensive. Those are $20 seats and should never be priced above that.

Sadly that video reads like a 40 year old in love with a 22 year old. And I say that as someone who loves this show.

Finally had a chance to watch that video. That song does absolutely nothing for me. And does that video remind anyone else of all the quarantine stuff that was made and put out during Covid?

As someone who thought this sounded very interesting and was considering springing for full-price tix for my planned November trip, this video made me hold back. That’s a marketing fail.
