It seems plausible, but I cannot ever remember a time that many letters were crammed on to that marquee

"A new play?" It premiered in 2018 in Chicago and even had an Off-Broadway run a few years ago.

Very much looking forward to revisiting this - it was phenomenal off Broadway.

I thought MacKinnon’s direction was very strong, but intrigued as to why Mantello is now stepping in (besides the fact that he’s chummy with Rudin). Either way, interested to see his take. I trust him implicitly after DOAS.

I remember the off-Broadway production being perfectly cast.

This is one of a handful of shows I’ve left at intermission. Really didn’t get the love for it from what I saw, but I’d be curious to revisit (finish) under Mantello’s direction.

In total agreement that K. Todd Freeman is very overdue for his Tony. Airline Highway should have been his win.

Very strange, especially since the marquee is already up for it.

I think the marquee was a fun way to announce it!

Glad we are getting a Mantello production of this. The play, although hard to swallow at times, was much better than the production/direction itself. They'll be smart to recast (most if not all). Fresh start.

I guess it’s his way of building intrigue. Does anybody have dates for this?
