I know one Tony voter and one Tony nominator and they both loathed Oklahoma. It’s truly a love it/ hate it production and it will be interesting to see what it actually gets nominated for and what it can actually win. I suspect Stroker will have some supporters but that Amber Gray will win in this catagory.
“I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then.”
If there’s a surprise...Bonnie Milligan sneaking in as the redeeming quality of Head Over Heels. I believe Gray has a slight edge, but I’d say Gray and the women from Oklahoma! are running a very tight race.
Amber Gray - HADESTOWN Ali Stroker - OKLAHOMA Sarah Stiles - TOOTSIE
These are the only perceivable “Locks” to me. The last two are a horse race between Testa, Milligan, Kritzer, and Hsu. I’d personally love for one of them to be Milligan, especially because she has such a strong fan base in the community

Sad that Diamond and Skinner are not in the mix. I also thought Spector was a lock for Featured Actor. I’ve seen everything but Hadestown, so I can’t comment on Gray. I didn’t enjoy Testa or Stroker. Hoping for an Angie Schworer surprise nom.
"Observe how bravely I conceal this dreadful dreadful shame I feel."
The final 2 slots could go to any number of talented women: Stephanie Styles, Sarah Stiles, Leslie Kritzer, Lilli Cooper. I don't think anyone else is a legit threat. Hatred for Beetlejuice helps the Sti(y)les sisters; genuine love for Tootsie helps Cooper & Stiles; and rave reviews for Kritzer could help get her over the edge.
In terms of a win, Stroker really "pops" in Oklahoma!, and she's the most conventional musical comedy performance in the production; even if they don't like the production, almost every critic liked her. (Case in point: Terry Teachout in the WSJ.) If voters LOVE Hadestown and are only going to give Oklahoma! the obligatory Best Revival win, that could tip the scale towards Gray.
Agreed with above. I think Stroker is the frontrunner as of now and Amber Gray is right behind her. I don't think the Tonys will just go for Hadestown over Oklahoma for everything, and even if they do that for most awards, Stroker might be an exception. She really was fantastic.

I kind of wish they could nominate the three fates as one. Maybe they will.
I think this is a two way race between Amber Gray and Ali Stroker. I do think a Mary Testa win might be possible as well."
YES to nominating the Fates. I loved the whole show, but they were the hands down highlight for me (and unanimously for my family who saw it with me). Wonder if they’ll be petitioned to be considered as one? I’m trying to think of a parallel situation, and Side Show is the only one I can think of.
100% agree with your four choices... I think the fifth will be either Stephanie Styles, Michaela Diamond, or Leslie Kritzer pending tonight’s reviews, with Styles having the edge for me. (Though I could see Stephanie Hsu as a dark horse if BMC ends up getting some love in the nominations.)
Ado Annie has never been nominated before. I'd like to think that Celeste Holm would have been nominated/won for the original production but the Tonys didn't have this category back in the 40s.
I'm sure Amber will be nominated, but I'm not as confident as everyone else here that she'll win. I won't be surprised to see Sarah Stiles get a ton of votes.
I’m wondering why Angie Schworer hasn’t been mentioned in any of these conversations. The Prom clearly has love, and she has one of the fan-favorite songs. Every now and then the nominations throw in a deserving but somehow forgotten wild card that almost no one has on their fake list, (like Ariana DeBose last year) and I feel like this could be one of them.

Well those aren't really comparable situations. Angie is a TINY part and Arianna DeBose was REALLY a co-lead in Summer but was nominated in the featured category.

That would be because the Tony Awards didn't exist at all when Oklahoma originally opened.
I really wish there was space for Micaela Diamond in this one but I just don't think it's going to happen. She's so great in the role for such a fresh face and young actress. Personal opinion, she's the best of the 3 Chers (yes including Block). But this is a pretty loaded year for featured. Stocker and Gray are the hard locks, the only two 100% sure things.
Ali Stroker Amber Grey Stephanie Styles Sarah Stiles ???? (Testa or Kritzer most likely. Wish it would be Diamond or Milligan)
Grey I feel SHOULD win however I think her best chance at this point is if Stroker and Testa are both nominated from Oklahoma and can split some votes. Otherwise she has a hard fight with Stroker for the prize.
And since someone mentioned it above and it's got me thinking now that I've seen the show... I could 100% see the Fates of Hadestown being nominated as a trio, and it would be totally deserved and I would actually consider them in the running for a win. Unlike past situations of multi performers being considered or nominated together (Sideshow, the Billys, the Matildas with their special Tony) this really IS a unit. They are not different portrayals of the same character or even really three different characters.... they are one voice and they really feel more like one character then three. Their synergy is amazing in all things they do on that stage. It's impressive how in sync they are at all times.
