Given that her father died last night, it's hard not to give Vanessa Hudgens a little bit of a break...
Didn't know about Vanessa's dad. Wow. Amazing she can even go on.
that costume change was amazing!

The sound is really strange. Some of the singing looks and sounds precorded, even though it isn't. Except for the chorus. The chorus is definitely prerecorded.

Yeah. I think Vanessa's doing great under the circumstances.
OMG I love Keke Palmer
I don't like HOW they are using the audience. Why would a bandstand of people applaud for Kenickie driving up?
Enjoying it more than I thought. The production values are really good but the screaming from the audience is annoying. Tveit is great but he reads much older on screen than on stage. Hudgeons has my forever respect for doing this tonight.
Keke killed it. Oh and I see that the dark cloud aka dramamama has made an appearance. Bitch and moan is your specialty.

Everyone is doing a good job with their lines.
I am impressed that Vanessa can even go on. And my real problem with her isn't her acting it's that she is too sweet for Rizzo. She's more of a Sandy type. Not hard enough for the bad girl.
My problem is really the whitewashed script. Thought the movie and the revivals just pale to the original.
'be cool I'm Sandra Dee'. Really?
Lin Is livetweeting and it is really adding to this whole thing!

Well they left the horny and getting laid lines!
Vanessa is great, IMO. I’m especially impressed because of how she’s holding up.
I'm actually digging the live audience. I don't even care if their reactions are odd or out of place. It's a live reaction to something that's going on in front of them, and that's cool.
The audience is clearly being prompted to applaud. I think it is unfair to compare to NBC. This is not an attempt to show a live Broadway show with the cross cuts between sets. But am enjoying it for what it is. (Although it us a little racy for this early evening start- even if true to the material)
One of my biggest problems with The Wiz was that it felt like it was happening in a vacuum. It was very cut-off from anything live. The live audience breathes a breath of fresh air into it.
Gee, I didn't know I wasn't allowed to speak my mind or that one opinion was bitching and moaning.

i like the live audience, but i wish they would react to jokes and not just scream after a song lol
I feel like the dialogue is live, but the singing definitely sounds very canned.
I don't get you guys sometime? If you're not going to watch it and TRY to enjoy it, change the channel! To make a smarmy comment every 2 minutes is just sad. We know it's not Sondheim it's Grease...and now, that there is a live audience in certain scenes, you still bitch. Just go away sad people.
