Did Nicholas Christopher already depart Miss Saigon?
Rubén Carbajal just posted to his Instagram story a video showing dressing rooms in San Diego, and one of the names had Jordan Donica on it. I feel like San Diego will be the city of swings and alternates, and then this new cast will go into full swing in Tempe.

We had Austin Scott at Dallas Theater Center for "Hood" last summer and....the man positively oozes charisma. He can also sing and act! I think he has the potential to be very good in this show.
I LOVED Nic’s Washington. I’m happy that he’s been on a streak of constant employment for a while now. The dude is hella talented.
Looks like we’re in for much more Mandy as Angelica, per one of her comments on this Instagram, where she confirms to someone she’ll be in until at least June. Soooo disappointing...

She’s not going to leave for a while unless they stop renewing her or until she finds a better gig which is highly unlikely. Remember how long she stayed in In the Heights?

Has there been any word about how much longer Euan Morton will be in as KG? I loved him in the Hedwig tour and am hoping and assuming he will be onstage next week when I see the show again.

Hi there! Sorry if this has already been answered but I didn't see anything in the past 4 pages. Does anyone have an idea of when Luwoye's contract ends? I got selected for tomorrow's pre-sale and am hoping he'll still be in the show in August/September. Hoping it's a standard 1-year contract and not 6 months.
Did anyone go last night and see Javier's last performance?

I guess I'm in the minority that I loved Mandy as Angelica. I thought she was amazing.
Would you amplify about her Angelica? I've heard her "Satisfaction," which is different from Goldsberry's, but certainly passionate and persuasive. Her vocal chops are remarkable, and I'd imagine that she'd be especially wonderful on "It's Quiet Uptown."
Thoughts?

Mandy's voice just doesn't suit the part. She clearly can not hit some of the higher notes for whatever reason and her acting isn't great either.
It's an absolute shame they passed on making Alysha Deslorieux the principle Angelica. Her "Satisfied" (you NEED to watch it here) is stunning. Although she is on the shorter side I would take her over Mandy any day of the week.
I saw Elizabeth Judd in the role in October and she was spectacular!

All of the audios of I've heard of Mandy are FULL of high notes. The comment above me makes no sense. I love that everyone was so passionate about Renee (she was incredible), but you have to remember Satisfied was written with high G's at the end which became optional AFTER Renee was Angelica. Renee to my knowledge never sang the optional high notes. Mandy has and while people might not like her acting you have to admit her vocals are impressive.
After seeing both the OBC and replacements, I actually preferred Mandy to Renee. I thought she had a more commanding attitude, and vocally she was outstanding. I also loved Lexi Lawson when I saw her, she has a great voice.

You're right! I worded my comment poorly. The day I saw Mandy, some of the notes she hit felt wrong, IMO, especially when she sang "Eliza" during "Take a Break." She could have been having an off day, vocally.
Karen Olivo is my favorite Angelica.
Wow, despite all the joking that he'd play King George until he retired, Rory O'Malley is leaving at the end of the month!

Was hoping to catch him again in D.C., but I'm happy that he can work on new stuff now!

When I saw Mandy in the show I felt like, during Satisfied, she was chasing the song rather than leading it? Like she couldn't keep up with the lyrics. Made the song kind of a downer to listen to.
Also, I look forward to what O'Malley will do next but I will also be regretful forever that I missed out on him in this show!
I criticize the show's website constantly, but I have to praise it now: they actually removed Javi and listed Michael Luwoye as the principal Hamilton on Broadway in a timely fashion!!! Progress!

Astutely put. She doesn't command the stage when she's on it, and the essence of Angelica is to be a magnetic force of nature. So disappointed that she's still supposed to in the role next time I go.

It's like you took the words out of my mouth!
My theory is Mandy leaves in July/August and Ana Villafañe takes over. (May just be wishful thinking though!)

So I saw it again last night with Luwoye and he is quite excellent as Hamilton--he really captures the ambition element very well, and you can understand every syllable that comes from his mouth (which cannot be said of everyone in the show's history). I also enjoyed Breaker as Burr. Euan Morton is just perfect as KG. Medina still shines and Mandy still doesn't bowl me over. But the one who really underwhelms me (again) is Lexi as Eliza. But it is still a wonderful show to see live and in NY and I look forward to the next time!
Sidenote: I just saw the London cast. Wow. Now, there's a solid cast. I've seen the OBC, the original Chicago cast, and random replacements on Broadway, and I have to say that the London cast is overall much stronger than the US replacements. They brought some fresh air to the piece.
If you get a chance to see them, take it. :)
