I just mean there were thousands of people (actual fans) trying to buy tickets, and gobbling up extras to mark them up 300% and make a profit later on seems unfair to fans getting kicked off ticketmaster time and again.

I must say I was offered Row F or G of the Rear Mezzanine from the new block for $139 but frankly, having seen the show, I am just not in the market PERIOD for spending 3 figures on back rear mezzanine seats. Perhaps if I had never before seen it. Not that I am picky---I'd take back or far side orchestra seats and middle or sides of front mez but I didn't feel like parting with nearly $150 per seat for the back of the back mez.
So I passed...then saw the very helpful tip on checking Sept/Oct. Saw a great pair of way side Orch Row G but by the time I was ready to pay and I thought they were in my cart, I got a "sorry" message...they were gone. Oh well. I'll console myself for now with the memories of the performances I've seen and relive it through the cast recording.
I don't understand why and how tickets are released---why did suddenly seats appear for Sept/Oct? How many seats are now being held back for mysterious reasons in the "new block"? I wish, along with regulation of bots, there were regulations for producers/promoters to be transparent with what is actually for sale, and when. Nice to know how many tickets we were vying for last night, and how many are still being withheld for whatever purposes (ie might get released for more sudden sales or find their way to sale through some other even less straightforward means)...
Even though didn't benefit from the 'tip' in the end, I did try hard! thank you (was it adagio?) for your generous sharing.

these tickets were taken away from people who bought more than what the certain block called for. It's the same thing that happened a month ago with tickets from November to january
Does anyone understand the ticket limits or when Ticketmaster might enforce them if they do? I bought tickets for a few shows close to each other in September and I am worried they may be cancelled.
I wonder if there were any tickets available to purchase at the box office this morning, if they were all released online last night & sold out. I just saw the show on 6/8 with tickets I bought at the box office the day after this block went on sale last September. I prefer to go to the box office to buy my theater tickets, but it seems like that's not possible for Hamilton any more unless a new block of tickets is released at a time that the box office is open.
I was able to get 4 front mezzanine seats for next April (to take my daughter for her 8th birthday) through the fan pre-sale earlier this week, but I decided to check the general on sale last night just to see if I could get anything earlier in the year. The first date I checked was immediately showing no seats available, then I chose 2 rear side orchestra seats for Valentine's Day but the page reloaded to selecting seats for you and all the standard seats were gone. Checked a few more dates but never got past the spinning wheel. Then I saw the tip on here about some tickets for Sept/Oct being available, and pulled up side orchestra row D for a Tues in Oct on the app but again lost them before I could finish the transaction. Oh well. I'll keep checking, its very possible that seats become available in the new block as TM cancels orders that exceed the published limit.

I mean i didn't think they would go THAT quickly but I knew they would sell. Like people were spending way more than that on resale tickets. It sucks the tickets are so expensive but like i was saying there is a market for it...
I Just Saw THE BOOK Of MORMON Last Week, A Show I Was Dying To SEE Once IT Came Out in 2011 but just like hamilton, it swept the tonys that year and getting tickets was little to impossible. And still, the book of mormon is sweeping box offices. Even though it is not as hard to get tickets anymore, they still manage to sell out before the curtain calls. I see hamilton having the same effect. Diving into the hype it has right now and seeing the show at its peak definitely is an exhilarating experience, but don't be discouraged if you're unable to see it. Even after waiting 5 years to see book or mormon, I loved ever second of it and I would see it again in a heartbeat.

Did you just buy them or are they tickets you acquired last night?
If anyone's interested, I just discovered via a friend that Broadway.com has a bunch of seats for sale in November (and possibly beyond). I hate them and their outrageous "fees", but a $100-per-ticket markup still makes for a much better price than typical scalper/resale in this case.
My experience was similar to others. I had a pair of tickets in my cart twice, and was excited about front row mezz in the center, but someone "took" them from my cart. The third time, they turned off the map, in the middle of my hunt. I figured three strikes and and hour later, I should give up.
My question is why does Ticketmaster allow someone to "take" tickets from your cart? I'm sure i don't understand the intricacies of how the site works, but it seems that if I have tickets in my cart and I click that I want them, even if the site is moving slowly, those should still be my tickets. I'm all for 'first come-first served' but if I had the tickets in my cart, 'first', how did someone else get them?
On a separate note, I keep reading that everyone thinks prices will drop when the original cast leaves. While they may drop a little, I think this may be a bit of wishful thinking. Most people outside of the NY area, have no idea who the original cast is. I think people just want to see Hamilton, when on holiday, not Hamilton with Daveed Diggs (no offense to Mr. Diggs, of course). I imagine time will tell, but those $849 tickets went awfully fast. Maybe they should do an arena tour :)
Just wanted to say thank you for the tip last night about the fall 2016 tickets! We were able to get the maximum number of tickets per household for both the fall and the spring, and this will allow our parents and our siblings from out of town to come see the show with us. We saw it over the winter and have been raving it about it to them since, so everyone is really excited.
The only bummer is that in the madness of the scramble, we didn't end up with great seats as we just went ahead and bought whatever the first tickets that "went through" were (we had four devices searching for various dates at once, given that so often we would get errors or booted out of line -- seems like for the future the phone app processes much faster than the computer for whatever reason). I did not think it was worth trying to get better seats and risk getting none at all. We have three sets, with Orchestra Row T stage left; Orchestra Row V center; and Rear Mezz Row F stage left. It seems from what I researched this morning that some people say the mezz hang over the Orchestra is not a big deal at all; others seem to think the view is very obstructed. I guess we will find out. And the Rear Mezz will be pretty far!! Hopefully everyone is happy and we will try to figure out which are the worst seats and let our family have the better ones, since we already saw it (from Row D of the Front Mezz).
I'll be interested to see how many of those $849 tickets pop up as resale. Most regular tourists can't afford those prices, so I'm guessing they were bought by scalpers. We'll see.
After a lot of fighting with the app and website last night, I managed to snag some seats for February. It didn't let me choose the seats, but after 40 mins of trying, I was ready to give up and took what they gave me. Row W. How will the view be? (My friend got Row C, and I'm so jealous.) Also, any word on the cast in February?
We don't know the cast in late July......how would we know Feb????
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I think they are far more likely to have gone for the 'cheap' seats where they can make a profit of $600 than the seats where they may not be able to make a profit at all. May be time to accept that enough people can afford it and are willing to pay it.
I had to leave the house for about 30 minutes around 8:30 last night so I was playing catch up with the Tonys for the whole rest of the night (I saw best musical around 11:30) and of course completely forgot about the new tickets til about midnight. I checked a random date in May, saw that only premiums were left and closed the tab. I didn't plan on going during that block; I can usually only get to NYC around June each year thanks to my boyfriend's vacation days at work, so we'll look at the next block and think about going then. sad to see it was such a headache for most of you.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
I don't follow Hamilton news very closely and didn't know what you knew or didn't know about extensions and whatnot. Will I miss a lot of the action in row W if it's partial view?
Thanks for the broadway.com tip. I hate their fees too but I finally got tickets. Spent way too much time last night and even took a trip to the box office this morning trying to get the tickets through the venue.
Ticketmaster is horrible in their set up - need a range of dates. Being from Phoenix I would jump at any ticket and then make travel plans accordingly :)
So, I got two tickets for my birthday in January Front Mezz Center Row C aisle. 600 total including fees. Just means we'll see one less show that week.
I went to the Rodgers box office today at lunchtime to see if any seats were available. The answer: No. I spoke to a fellow fan outside the theater, and he said that about 300 people were on line at the box office today when it opened. An employee told the line, "The only seats left are $849," and I guess she or he got irked when people approached the box office asking for other price points.
