i passed by the theater not that long ago and there were a ton of cameras and people waiting outside of the stagedoor. the amount of time I've seen something about this makes me less and less likely to see the show again. I'm tired of hearing about it.
I had a friend just tell me that there was a press conference infront of The Booth that apparently just ended. The 19 year old boy was there and they took questions from the press.
This is what he just said on Facebook:
"So the press conference just ended. Of course when a reporter asked him to name the restaurant that served him he said, " No comment." He is nineteen for those of you who didn't know. Also another reporter asked if this was all a publicly stunt to increase sales as last week it was the second lowest grossing show on Broadway. Hmmm....."
This was the #1 show on my list to see on my next trip in September. If this is a publicity stunt I don't want to see it. I mean i really want to see it but I don't want to support this.

Publicity stunt or not, don’t let that get in the way of seeing this excellent show. Whether the marketing team cooked this whole thing up or decided to make the most of this incident in a last ditch effort to try to get the play’s name out there, it has nothing to do with the art presented up on that stage. Don’t deprive yourself of a brilliant show with wonderful performances.
I would think a lot of people were ready to forgive and forget...but this "apology tour" is making me angrier and angrier. He needs to shut up and wipe that smug look from his face and take it all down a notch. Also, his constant writing off that he underage, drunk, and talking about the restaurant he was at before is just a jerkoff cherry on top. You realize that people can go to jail because you flaunted the law right? That the restaurant can get shut down? Apart from being disrespectful over and over again, he is actually criminal and could get a lot of other people in trouble.

Curious, he had no problems naming Iron Bar in the first interview he did with Playbill.com yesterday. That interview has since been updated to say "a restaurant," but if you Google "Hand to God" + "Iron Bar" you can still see the old version.
I know a lot of 19 year olds drink - we all probably did. And he was with family right? I know tons of parents that will go to the bar for their kid and bring them back something. It isn't the end of the world usually. But the bartender that served him or resulted in him being served could face jail time, his/her license being revoked, and fines upwards of $10k not to mention the restaurant being shut down and facing even larger fines. More than anything else, that is what is making me furious about this whole thing.
@ ntrackbar.. Agreed. And his giving a press conference while chewing gum like a cow is really irritating. You can tell what kind of person he is and it reflects badly on his family. SHAME!!!!
