I guess this could be interpreted as a compliment to Beowulf Boritt on his very realistic set design if this was, indeed, an act of stupidity and not some dare

It remains unclear whether the brazen theater-goer was truly unaware of the consequences of his actions or perhaps was acting on a dare. According to the site, upon receiving his phone back, he asked the usher, "Well, where can I charge it?
Ugh. I forgot it was a god-given right nowadays to charge your phone at any public place. I hope the usher's answer was "At home, a$$hole."

This story's constant recycling on social media over the past two weeks is beginning to feel publicity-driven.

This is the first I've seen of the story. Guess I missed the last 14 days of coverage?
Regardless - this is hilarious and embarrassing and sad and still hilarious.

It's been two weeks since July 2?

^ lol — well, last week and now this week
sure felt like two weeks. (busy long weekend) this blew up on my Facebook page last week, the evening it happened.
still, note the show advertisment accompanying the story on this site. not saying it was a stunt — just that they're making the most of the story. which they're free to do.
carry on.

They walked. It's live theatre, not a movie where getting into the action would require supernatural skills.
Has the person been identified? Am I the only one who wouldn't put this past Pinto?

Thank you but my question was more of that I didn't think there were stairs leading up to the stage like some shows. Or how high the stage is. I was interested if they actually jumped onto the stage...etc.. Sorry if my question was ambiguous

The show advertisements happen at the bottom of most if not all BWW articles, I thought.

I would have made a very blunt suggestion of just exactly where to plug his phone.

Unbelievable.

Pinto, I know it wasn't you because you have more respect for the theatre, but you have to admit it is a funny image (especially for those of us for whom your "image" is the one to the left of your posts. ![]()

He was late teens/early 20's. When the usher got him he said ""Well, where can I charge it?"
I mean....insane.

Can you spell self absorbed individual boys and girls?
Moron would also be a good substitute. A perfect example of the times we live in.
Maybe we need to make another announcement (that people will ignore ) stating you cannot charge your cell phone anywhere in the theater.

I suppose, though, that at least this would mean he wouldn't be able to text/play games/talk loudly on his phone during the show as most audiences do nowadays. And given the amount of stuff thrown across the stage in the show, maybe they should have just left it there and allowed the audience to applaud as the phone is destroyed throughout the evening.

Broadway61004, that post made me chuckle. Also Hogan is right- someone crashing a play to charge their phone would be a great skit for Carol Burnett had her program aired today...!

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Did he get on the stage while the play was going on?
