What shows do you regret not seeing?

I am playing Waitress and Dear Evan Hansen obsessively, and am kicking myself for not seeing those shows.

I was literally walking to the theatre where the revival of Miss Saigon was playing when I got the phone call that my dad had just died. I turned around and went home instead (after crying in front of Room Service on 8th Ave.), assuming I would catch it some other time. But it was not to be; for one reason or another I was never able to make it happen.

Cate Blanchett in Streetcar at BAM and the most recent revival of Virginia Woolf. Both times, I had the tickets in my cart and was told by someone to wait and then missed the chance. I won’t do that again.

You DO know these are fairly new shows and DEAR EVAN HANSEN will resume Broadway performances once things return so you DO have a chance of seeing it, along with the national touring production, which is safe to assume will continue as well.   WAITRESS may have closed on Broadway, but the national tour most likely will resume as well.  

Also, both of these shows can be viewed on YouTube, so never say never and by all means, remove the word regret from your vocabulary.   That word will never move your life in a positive direction.

2003 Long Day's Journey revival with Brian Dennehy, Vanessa Redgrave, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robert Sean Leonard. That amazing cast doing one of my all-time favorite plays and I just couldn't get up to the city during the limited run to see it.

And also, while I'm one of the few people in the world who is not a Hamilton fan at all, I do regret passing up the $99 mezzanine tickets when it first opened.

I was offered tickets to see both parts of The Inheritance the last week of February. I had to turn it down because I was going on a trip for a little over a week. So, I bought tickets to both parts on Saturday, March 14th. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Kicking myself for not going sooner.

Patti LuPone in Gypsy! One of my favorite shows with my favorite diva. I didn't have the money and I wasn't following Broadway as closely during that time.

Although she sang all the songs thrillingly, after reading her autobiography and her approach to the character, I'm actually concerned I may have been let down. I think Buckley is my favorite of the ones I have seen.

Since my first time coming to New York. My regret are not seeing : catch me if you can. American psycho Brendon urie in kinky boots. Bernadette Peters in follies. 2012 superstar revival. war Horse. Hedwig and the angry inch. The audience with Helen Mirren.  Jonathan Groff in Little Shop or Hamilton.  Finding Neverland.

Little Shop of Horrors with Jonathan Groff.  I went to see Moulin Rouge on that trip... definitely would have picked Little Shop. 

I also wish I could have seen  If / Then and Finding Neverland. I never made it up to NYC when those shows were running.

I prefer musicals over plays so it explains all of these. However, I will say that I chose the following because the main reason to see these were of the casting, and see these incredible performers live in person.

When I look through my book of Broadway tickets, I always get annoyed with myself in the mid-2000's, when I saw either Avenue Q, Spring Awakening, Rent, or Phantom at least once a month, every month for years.  Why I never just spent a Saturday or Sunday afternoon seeing another show, I'll never know. That was in an era when I would have never gone to see a show by myself, so I must have figured it would be too hard to find someone to see shows like all of the great ones you guys are listing. However, I did date a lot back then and sooner or later, every date had to see one of the aforementioned shows with me lol.

Jenn Colella's one performance as the lead in If/Then. I didn't have work that day, and I was in Union Square for an advanced screening of the Into the Woods movie. I regret few things in life, but one theatre regret is not bailing on ITW and running to the Richard Rodgers to see that matinee.

Ballroom.  I was in NYC in 1978 and thought (at the time) that $25 was a lot to spend for orchestra seats.
