Does anyone know if Lin is going to be out tonight?
tried tonight. lost. LOTS of people. more than i had seen the other times i tried. i'm 0-5 now.
i have never tried this "5 minute technique"... lol. enter 5 minutes before they draw and maybe your name will be on top? is that it?
I almost think there were more people at ITH tonight than at Wicked. If not, it was close.
Well this week it was at 100.1% capacity. Could this be the new Wicked?
i tried wicked several times and never won. i think the crowds at ITH last night were almost as bad as the crowds at wicked. i'm going to try again tonight but am not very optimistic.
Was at the lottery last night. Now, I haven't done the Wicked lottery in a year or so but there weren't as many people at In the Heights as there were the last time I was at Wicked. But, there were still a lot and my friend and I didn't win! :-P
As for the show, Mandy Gonzalez was out an Janet Decal was on as Nina.... Not great! :-/ It was my first time seeing the show and from listening to the cast album I was not a huge fan of Mandy's so I was kind of glad to see someone else as Nina. But, Janet was an even weaker singer than Mandy and her acting was blah. The show was still amazing!!! I would just like to see a really strong Nina!
I did both yesterday (Wicked and ITH ~ lost both), and the numbers appeared to be pretty equal. Perhaps slightly less at ITH because people didn't realize they had an 8pm show so the lottery was later. But it was VERY close in numbers.
yeah i think mandy gonzalez has one of the strongest voices. she can sing a total of 3 octaves-very impressive.
"12:30 for matinees, 5:30 for evening shows. They draw names a half an hour later."
11:30-12pm for Saturday and Wednesday Matinees.
12pm-12:30pm for Sunday Matinees ONLY.
5:30-6pm lotto for all evening shows.
You can choose either 1 OR 2 tickets per name.
Songsstresss- Janet's acting is far superior to Mandy's. Mandy has a beautiful voice, but her acting is not that good, and she doesn't look 19 really. Krysta is the best actress to play Nina, but her voice wasn't as strong as Janet's or Mandy's, and she looked really young. Kysta and Chris together was a little odd because he's big and she looks like 16 compared to him. Janet is my favorite Nina because she can sing AND act AND she looks 19 years old. Janet is probably the best Nina because she has all 3, looks, talented, voice. Just because Mandy can sing unbelievably, doesn't mean her acting is top notch. And seeing as it was your first time seeing the show and you sat in lotto seat and you saw Janet on as Nina, you are *very* lucky! I bet you many people would've loved to see last nights show but couldn't make it out, so you are very very very lucky to have seen the show last night. And especially from lotto.

I did the five minute technique for Saturday night's Wicked lottery and won. I did not realize it at the time that my timing made any difference, but it may have.

I'm going to be in NYC from July13th-19th and want to see ITH again but want to get cheap tix. Which is the best day to try lotto? I was thinking either Tuesday night or for the Wednesday Mat. Also when they sell SRO do they lotto it off? Do they still do discounts after lottery?
Thanks

I am planning on doing the lottery tomorrow (7/9) for the matinee and the evening (if needed). Anyone want to meet up and take our chances together?
Better odds of winning! Let me know by PM!
Thanks!
Tommy

They do sell SRO tho right? Do they usually Lotto it or just sell it?
I've been there when they've lotto'd off SRO. I've been there when they've just sold SRO after the end of lotto. I've been there when SRO was actually sold out before lotto. It depends.

When do they sell SRO. When the B.O opens or after lotto. BC I know like at Rent they usually only decide if they're gonna sell SRO after lotto. And if I buy SRO and win lotto can I past date my SRO ticket?

I thought the Richard Rodgers didn't have SRO....
They do. Apparently they kinda suck but they clearly have them since Anakela just said she's seen them sell SRO fairly often.
Yes- yes they sell them, and yes also on the they kinda suck. :) I would not recommend standing room to a first time viewer, you miss everything above the ground level awnings, but for a repeat viewer and for $21.50 they're ok.
itwon'tbelongnow.... I did not win the lottery and saw the show from standing room. And I stick by what I said. Janet's acting was sub-par. She lacked energy and characterization and her singing was not only weak, but off-pitch at some points. She was lovely though, and in no way "ruined" the show or anything, but my friend and I both agreed she was the weakest lead on that stage.
It was my first time seeing the show and while I had to duck down a couple times, mostly during "Sunrise," to see the upper parts of the stage, I didn't feel like I missed anything important. And it was fun to be able to dance a little bit to the fantastic music!

Good to know that now ITH has SRO!!
Do they typically sell it before or after the lotto?

Hey all:
I am going to be around the theatre for the matinee (lotto time) and would be willing to help someone out by putting my name in. Someone did it for me a few months back and it was the nicest thing in the world. I would be happy to replay the favor.

I already have a ticket for the 2pm and am happy to help!
Let me know!
