I will point out that part of the balcony scene begins and ends with Rachel walking through - what looks like - an elaborate palace which is just the lobby of the palladium. I’m sure the ornateness of the lobby is also going to be a consideration when choosing the theater.
On a separate note, can anyone speak of the equity implications for a transfer? I gather the two American stars will be fine, but curious for say some of the smaller roles currently cast by Bits?

Jamie did bring some British ensemble members over for Sunset - I think about 6 or 7 of them if I remember - so I suspect he’ll get to bring whoever he wants this time as well.

My assumption would be that Rachel, Diego, and James definitely transfer as they are American, though it would not shock me if James were replaced due to his less than stellar reviews.
Jamie brought over 4 ensemble members for Sunset: Tyler Davis (who is actually American), Emma Lloyd, Hannah Yun Chamberlain, and Shayna McPherson. I'm sure there will be a couple from Evita who would transfer as well.
I would love to see it at the Lyric! With there being no other theatres on 43rd street, it would be a lot easier to handle the crowds that would form on the street. Hopefully ATG (and Jamie) would keep the modifications that made the Lyric auditorium seem less like a barn, it would serve future productions so much better.

For experts on West End prices, how unusual is the Evita price explosion? My daughter got a ticket for the 104.5 pounds a few weeks ago. Prices for that performance are now 190 pounds in the same mezzanine area (but worse seats). I realize it’s dynamic pricing at work, especially for a limited run, but how often do West End shows start getting priced like Broadway hits?
It’s getting very common. But the seat I have next month when so go again is now £200 more in the same section than when i bought it which is insane.
Anyone interested in seeing the Tuesday Eva, Bella Brown, sing “Argentina”, check out “loveforbroadwaymusicals” on Instagram.
She’s quite flat on the high notes and thin on the low notes, which can’t be due to nerves since her mid stuff all sounds very good and visually there’s confidence there.
But more than that, it made me realize that Zegler, aside from hitting every note of the score dead center, really does have “it”, the x-factor, star quality, whatever you want to call it. She’s undeniably and inherently a star.

I thought she was excellent. What presence in that video
I also thought she looked and sounded excellent. It definitely makes me want to see her now.

The Majestic would be ideal for its auditorium, but I don’t think there’s any way to make the balcony scene work.
I’m expecting the August Wilson.

There is a website already for this. You have to login…just like when someone found Audra Gypsy website before it was officially announced.

Either they pre-bought or an announcement is soon. I’m back to guessing West End closing night now that Sunset had closed.

Is it me or is London basically the premier Broadway tryout location now? Or at least equal to off Broadway. Over the past couple years so much has transferred. And now we expect anything of decent success in London to transfer.
Has anyone else noted the exterior balcony-esque construction that began at the St James while Sunset Blvd was still playing?

Um, THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES begins previews at the St. James Theatre this October 2025. It’s not a limited engagement so unless Jamie Lloyd and his people know something no one else does, you can rule out the St. James Theatre until THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES closes.

Um, how fascinating. Thank goodness you were here.

I think this was just standard maintenance or cleaning. It looked like things were moved around but not in a way that said “we’re changing this into an entirely new configuration”.

It’s cheaper to produce a show in London. A lot cheaper.
Broadway also has a theatre chain controlled by Brits (ATG, which also self-produces), one of its top producers is a Brit (Sonia Friedman), and the hottest director of the moment is a Brit (Jamie Lloyd).
These things tend to be cyclical.
