If this is true then this is probably all we’re getting. They probably only recorded these 10 songs.
The holding the note out forever trend is hideous. No i dont care how strong ur lungs r

Agreed on that point. Sunset really lost me there, and it never really had me to begin with.
It’s also les mis, Chicago and so many other shows where actors are just holding out the note. It’s a competition at this point. Horrible
In “Sunset”, I’ve personally long said the song works much better when the note is held at that point (nobody did it better than Betty Buckley) but this last revival took it to a ridiculous point. It’s blatantly obvious with “Evita” that it’s being done for no other reason than to get that same response from the audience in the moment so (again, my opinion) people can get up and scream. I think the line is actually much more impactful when the word “Savior” is sung powerfully. To me, THAT makes sense musically. Holding a note on that word, does not.
Max von Essen did it in all I care about iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis love

Birdie, it sounds like you don't want this production to come to Broadway at all
Rumors on other platforms/sites say a full recording is to be released when the production transfers. Classic trend of having consumers double dip, as most music releases are these days.
I saw RAINBOW HIGH on one of my music services late last night. I figured I’d get it today and didn’t listen to it. Today it is gone. I think I saw it on Apple Music…
It’s still on Apple Music, as well as YouTube.

And how much do you think they’ll charge for the additional 17 tracks?
Call me a basic b but I love the long notes in sunset and this. YOU GO GURLLLL.

The note held in Rainbow High is nothing new. Jacqui Scott did it brilliantly a LONG time ago and having seen Rachel twice, it enhances the song and doesn't distract one bit.
Jacqui's version from 1:18:

Oof! This version of "Rainbow High" sounds very 'glee'.
This single of "Rainbow High" sounds terrible. Which is a shame, it always sounded wonderful live.
Her vocals are too compressed and she is too close to the microphone, which makes it sound too direct. Too dry. It desperately needs reverb. And she is flat at times. And the orchestra is off at times, which also seems to be due to digital cuts made later on. I think they should take it offline as soon as possible and re-do it. This was a mistake.
I am a bit worried now because both of the "Don't cry for me Argentina" versions on the single (studio version and "live" version) sound this way too. It has nothing to do with the quality or sound of the actual production. Even the so-called "live" version, which they supposedly recorded on an empty stage without an audience, is terribly mis-produced-mixed and -recorded. I really hope the rest of this album is not from that same "live" recording.
Why couldn't they just record 5 shows properly, pick the best takes, keep the reverb from the live sound and mix it?

I love Jacqui Scott. She really devoured that role night after night. Her "Don't cry for me Argentina" is the most beautiful version of any on-stage Evita out there in my opinion.

Official transfer announcement coming after tonight’s closing, like SUNSET did???
Rachel’s voice is too pingy for me for the score. I prefer a voice with more body to it like Patti or Shareen Pimentel had at the ART. I hate how Rachel goes up right at the end of rainbow high on the word “quality.” It sounds so much better just doing it as written, why mess with a good thing

Not if we are to believe the rumors that the boys are feuding and ALW doesn't think the storytelling is strong enough!

I think that is just part of the score now. Elena Rogers did the same thing on her recordings
Elena’s vocals are best forgotten! As is that entire production. Max von Essen couldn’t have been more wrong for Magaldi. The only one of the leads across both London and NYC even remotely right for their role was Philip Quast, and even then that’s pushing it. Misfire on all fronts.

I just read a comment on Reddit that says the “I’m still called an admiral…” line is sung by a woman in the Jamie Lloyd production. No wonder people aren’t getting the story if that’s the type of stuff they have to sieve through. Keep this groundbreaking production in London.

It's a small thing but I so badly wish they would bring back the original "star quality" endings to the songs Buenos Aires and Rainbow High. I think it's so much cooler - has such a sharp, confident "onto the next thing/can't be bothered/just wait and see..." star-quality vibe that I find fitting for the character.

If you thought Max was wrong for Magaldi... I’d say wait until you hear how over the top they let Aaron sing it, but you won’t because none of Magaldi’s songs will be on the album.

Not only is her voice “too pingy” but the background voices are anemic.
They all sound like high schoolers.
There is no weight, no tension…it’s very high school talent contest or karaoke at Marie’s Crisis.
No announcement, not looking good
