I agree entirely. The lyrics are very specific to Florence's situation and make no sense when sung by Svetlana. (I know there are alternate lyrics that make more sense, but they're just not as good, and they weren't in fact used in the Kennedy Center production.)

Svetlana probably does need more to sing, but Rice, Andersson and Ulvaeus should address that by writing a song to fit that character.

With Michael Mayer at the helm, that could concerning. He so far hasn’t had an impressive track record with shepherding revised books for Broadway musicals (like On a Clear Day You Can See Forever and Funny Girl).

actually I was thinking Hannah Shankman, who from recent IG comments is a fan of the show and also just posted support for the three leads today. Also after touring the country with FG for the last 18 months probably wouldn't mind the standby schedule.

plus as far as we know so far, given the casting breakdowns they are just looking for a standby,  no hint of Lea doing 7 shows this time.

yes it's a big role vocally but she doesn't have to dance in this and shes off stage a lot more than in FG so the role is not as physically taxing as FG.

Have to agree with others that the keyart is giving Sunset Blvd. but with pink text instead of red. Why pink?

They should adjust the write up and change the word "players" to "challengers" just to hit it home for the tiktok gen that this is essentially Challengers the musical. It's the same story. Problem is they won't read it.

Every production I’ve seen that song has always been sung by Svetlana. The original Australia production done by Rice that was set in a Bangkok hotel had her sing that song ( Maria Mercedes ) it’s on YouTube!
