The colors in the title treatment are so bizarre. The red and pink clash and you can't even read The Musical, so why even bother? The image is fine, but that promo video is fantastic. Hits and misses.

Lea answered a question about Chess at her Anaheim concert the other night in the Q&A time before the concert.
I hope the link works.

This is the best read I’ve heard in a long time! Thanks!

Yes, the link works. And just as Lea said, there was a read through with the lead trio recently. The Chess IG posted a photo. If I understood Lea correctly, actual rehearsals will begin in Fall, though.
P.S. Speculating a bit here, but is it normal to have a table read at this point? In Hollywood they do this before the final greenlighting decision, but this show must have been greenlighted long ago.
So it was either
a quick meeting to get everyone on the same page regarding Mayer's concept of the show before they all rehearse by themselves during summer or
they made another round of changes to the book and wanted to test the new version.

I would suspect the second option as its labled a 29 hour reading on the folders posted by chessbway on instagram.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what to make of that, because they must have signed contracts by now. Maybe, technically, the work requirements of the contracts only start in fall and they wanted to be extra sure to keep Actors Equity off their back - just a formality.
But now that you say it, yes this indicates more of a formal (mostly) uninterrupted read through rather than a discussion. As the choice of actors is clear, this must be about the book.

Definitely. I'm sure it's testing changes Strong has made.

More speculation: They may have used random production team members to read the parts of Svetlana, Arbiter etc. but could it be they found the actors and just strategically left them out of the photo?
Also, will the hordes of morons out there still claim Lea can't read?

Lea has proved over and over again she can read, they don't care, they just like to make fun of her in any way. Remember this whole idiocy was started by fans of another Glee cast member just wanting to make fun of her.
Anyway, according to the cast breakdowns released a couple of weeks ago, Molokov, The Arbiter and Walter have already been cast, only Svetlana, Lea's standby and the ensemble are still to be cast.
I strongly suspect the three who played those roles in the 2018 and 2022 concerts will do so again on Broadway. So Bradley Dean, Bryce Pinkham and Sean Allan Krillis.

I've already seen multiple interviews with the three of them on the carpet and the promo with the three of them looks like it will be a lot of fun.

I am afraid it may not be open until then so might postpone my trip until the fall. Hopefully this will start previews in October when I have a chunk of time off. Not really excited about Michele,(She better sing the hell out of Nobody's Side"!), but can say I have seen her live, if I see it. I was a big GLEE fan. Tveit's acting was really wooden when I saw him in "Moulin Rouge", but I really like his voice. I will see Nick in anything!!"
Hence my comment about it not being open in July.
BOOP won't be open in July and CHESS is taking the Broadhurst!"

Yes please to Bradley Dean!
A preview into next year's Tonys, hopefully.

As long as she deserves it for her performance above the others nominated in that category, and not just because her fans want her to win.

I don't think Tony award voters give a damn about the wishes of her fan base. If she wins award, she will definitely deserve it with her performance. Her biggest problem will be Tveit IMO. Lovely voice but a wooden actor who usually has zero chemistry with female co-stars.
Solid wood & lack of interest in female partners?
You just described my perfect man.

If Boop were to announce a closing soon, do you think we're looking at early Fall dates or late Fall dates? I'm ready to buy a ticket.

In a interview for Broadway News at the Tony Award...
Some info shared... they have sung through the songs..
Q: When do you guys go into rehearsal?
AT: Mid September, but actually we are this week working on the script a little bit.
LM: We work tomorrow morning.
AT: Properly we start in the fall.
I really hope in these work sessions they decide to give Florence back Someone Else's Story. I'm sure whoever they get for Svetlana will be lovely, but putting Lea Michele on a Broadway stage with this score and not letting her sing that song would be a travesty. Not to mention (as has been said before) it simply just makes so much more sense with Florence.

I saw that interview yesterday and wondered if a mid September start for rehearsals means mid to late October start of previews and an opening just before Thanksgiving, just in time for the holiday period?

The much rumored Solea Pfeiffer is departing Moulin Rouge at the end of July. Those dates would line up perfectly with Chess…jussaying
