McClure is just fabulous in these clips. Was skeptical and thought that I knew exactly how he'd play it. But he surprised me. The little affectation in his voice is just enough and delightful. And he's making him so damn likable, especially in that "Suddenly Seymour" clip.

I have a ticket to the Saturday matinee as part of an NYC weekend. Given Matt is already scheduled to be out for the weekend (meaning they have one less person than tonight) I have a feeling this weekend's shows are in danger.
Tonight's performance is currently scheduled to go on.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Would be fun if Cheyenne Jackson came in for a bit as Orin. Also, I know she just had a baby, but I would LOVE to see what Kate Rockwell does with Audrey. She would be sublime.

Cheyenne would be really great and so would Gavin Creel (if he wasn't touring with ITW). I would also love to see some more diversity in the leads! It's been mentioned before but Larry Owens and Rebecca Naomi Jones would be some stellar casting fore Seymour and Audrey.

I’m wondering if Bryce will come back since Ohio State Murders is done"

Oh I hope so! Bryce was so great"
I imagine they have his costumes in storage and he can jump back in relatively quickly as opposed to rehearsing someone new

I wouldn't say she's out of left field, she is the traditional Audrey, a young ingenue with a slight edge/sadness.
Its more so interesting for the fact that the there are only 2 things that didn't make this a paint by numbers replica revival that countless schools, regional, and community theaters put on every year. One was it was built around Seymour, making him the shows focal point with all other characters being supporting, as opposed to most productions having Audrey being either the co-lead or star. The way this was done which leads to the second point was that Audrey was no longer a fresh faced naïve ingenue, she's an older middle aged woman beat down by life. In doing so it makes Seymour the sole spark of hope for change on Skid Row.
Audrey knows she's in an abusive relationship, she simply thinks she can't do better, which is much easier to portray when you are in your late 30s to early 40s as opposed to being 25. It transformed Audrey from a Tracey Turnblad/Ellen Green caricature into a Sally Bowles, which is why many could overlook the fact that Blanchard did not have the traditional vocal chops for the role. I am not saying I don't think Maude Apatow will do a good job, it just seems like a complete 180 for what this revival was created to be.
