TodayTix is currently having a Black Friday sale. You can get good seats in row B in the mezz for $112 or row D for $77. I bought tickets for my mid-January trip. Hoping the show holds on for at least another two months!

Maybe if you want this show to survive, buying tickets at face value will help. They're getting better capacity (and I'm curious to see what today's numbers will bring) but they very much need to start getting tickets sold at full price to start digging out of their financial hole.
I went back tonight for the second time. Lotto win and this show just gets better. What a gem. I hope it can last through Tony noms. The theater seemed full from what I could tell.
To be honest, I feel like a chump when I pay $150 for a middling seat and see that the average price for that week was like $44 (I'm looking at you, KPOP).

The average ticket price has gone up last week compared to the week prior. If anything, know that you’re helping keep the show open by paying full price. I almost never see shows for full price, generally just do rush and lottos. But after seeing this one (with a rush ticket) I immediately went and bought a full price ticket so that 1) I could guarantee a great seat, 2) so my family had an opportunity to experience this beautiful show and 3) because I’m rooting for this show to stick around and they will only do so if people start buying full price tickets so they can get into a better financial position. So don’t feel like a chump! You did a good thing for a show that needs it and got the benefit of enjoying an amazing piece of art!

First row mezzanine seats have a warning “A safety rail momentarily blocks certain moments.” Is this significant enough to avoid those seats? Thanks for any input.
Up on TDF for next week.
At TKTS today for both shows 50% off.

I sat in second row mezz and the people in front of me were leaning forward frequently, so I assume their view was obstructed.
For all those interested, tonight went slightly overlong at about a 1:45 runtime (7:07 start to 8:52 blackout).
Looked like a mostly full orchestra section, but I'm sure a sizable amount of papering came into play.
I quite liked the two new leads and the visual effects are $$$ but effective.

I had previously seen a reading with the Atlanta helperbots.

This show has lost money since it's first performance.
Lets use the power of this chat to see if we can help change them.
I am encouraging folks to go and see it - its really is a special show with a very special director.

Happy closing, Maybe Happy Ending!

Are the understudies from the Atlanta production?

Apparently, Katherine Quinn (who does social media for The Great Gatsby) has taken over social media after the departure of Super Awesome Friends.
I caught today's matinee via the surprisingly hard to win lottery. MHE is excellent. It's the best Pixar movie I've seen in years, if that makes sense.
I'm another person confused why it opened in the Fall, not the Spring. It legitimately could win Best New Musical at the Tony Awards, but the only way it could stay open that long was if it already had a Best Musical win to market.
Sometimes that's how the finances or the schedules work out. But also...had Maybe Happy Ending waited until spring, it would be one of a bunch of shows vying for attention. In the fall, it has stepped comfortably into the role of "critical darling/little show that could." Everyone is rooting for this show, and for good reason. It seems like the groundswell of word of mouth, reviews, and goodwill has done a solid upswing of it's numbers, and it's suddenly one of the hardest shows in town to rush or win the lottery. It's chugging along, and the entire industry is rooting for it.
New ad / commercial:
As per Reddit, this is being used on TV. The ad doesn't get specific about the plot, but plays up the critical acclaim. Perhaps that will work well for them, if some do find 'robots in love' to be a hard sell.
Posted this in broadway grosses, but it’s more about the show, so putting it here too. Saw MHE for the second time tonight. The first time, I was able to move because there were many empty seats. Tonight the show was packed. My friend and I decided that the title of the show isn’t doing it any favors, and neither is the explanation of what it’s about. This is one that needs the positive word of mouth (that clearly it’s getting) to put people in those seats, but once they’re there…pure delight.

As someone who adored MHE when I saw it, I do agree the title isn't great. Then again, it is much less generic than the working English title in 2017, "What I Learned From People" (if Wikipedia is to be believed) and the 2023 Korean film adaptation title, "My Favorite Love Story".
I did consistently call the show "Maybe Happy Endings" before seeing it, the real title only making sense in retrospect. Still not sure what a good alternative would be, maybe Chasing Fireflies?
