Absolutely psychotic thing to even think nonetheless post online

That feels like a pretty extreme reaction to a simple question. I wasn’t trying to be offensive or “psychotic,” just curious about something specific. People ask niche or historical questions about Broadway all the time, and this one comes from a place of recognizing recovery and resilience after a serious injury. If anything, it highlights how far medical care and performers’ ability to return to demanding work have come. Not every question needs to be taken in the worst possible way.

Okay, but...that's a lot more context than your initial phrasing of the question, which wasn't tactful.

That’s fair, the wording could’ve been clearer. But also, expecting a fully contextualized and perfectly tactful question on a BroadwayWorld message board is kind of beyond the scope of what this space is. We’re not writing research papers or publishing medical analyses, it was just a quick, off-the-cuff question out of curiosity.
The intent wasn’t to be insensitive, just to ask something specific and see if anyone knew the answer or had insight. Not every post is going to come with a full explanation attached, especially in a casual forum like this.

Take the L dude. You made yourself look all kinds of ass with that comment and you knew exactly what you were saying.

I’m not someone who’s flippant about gun-related issues or what victims go through.
This was a quick curiosity post, not a statement minimizing anything. You can think the phrasing was off, that’s fair, but jumping straight to assuming I’m being insensitive doesn’t line up with how I usually engage on here.

Your profile photo is a screencap of someone in Brownface from Team America World Police (Why?)... God forbid someone think you have bad opinions.

Team America: World Police, which is literally a satire that takes aim at the post-9/11 mindset and American interventionism. The whole point of that movie is to be over-the-top and uncomfortable to expose how absurd a lot of that rhetoric was.
Using that as a profile picture isn’t an endorsement of anything offensive, it’s referencing a piece of comedy that critiques the very systems and attitudes you’re implying I support. If anything, it signals the opposite. It’s one of the more biting satirical films of the 21st century, not some random choice meant to excuse bad opinions.

Mmhmmm, I liked Team America too when I was 12. I shouldn't be shocked that someone who holds it in such high regard as an adult is asking about Meg Thee Stallion getting shot. Liking it so much that you use an image of brown face from it as your profile picture on a Broadway Message Board? Now that's a unique decision.

I mean, writing it off as something you “grow out of at 12” kind of ignores what Team America: World Police is actually doing. It’s not just crude for the sake of it, it’s deliberately over-the-top to satirize American foreign policy and the post-9/11 culture around it. You don’t have to like that style of comedy, but there’s a reason Matt Stone and Trey Parker are still relevant.
As for the profile picture, it’s a reference to that satire, not an endorsement of anything offensive. And connecting that to a simple question I asked about Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t really track. One is about a piece of media I find interesting, the other was just curiosity about recovery and performance. You can disagree with the taste or the phrasing, but jumping to assumptions about my character based on that feels like a stretch.

That is literally what it is. It's literally got a 5 minute sex scene between puppets with scat play. The reason Matt and Trey are still relevant is because they scratch your lizard brain while lacking the ability to actually stand for anything. They've spent 20+ years playing apathetic teenager saying "everything sucks." Don't attempt to rewrite it now because they found a backbone during this SECOND administration.

Tonight’s show was stopped mid way and Megan was taken to the hospital. Not sure what happened.

Right now all I could find is she “fell ill”.

As always, shoutout to the swings and understudies who are prepared to keep the show going at a moment’s notice.

Talk about a tasteful response to an actor having a medical emergency mid-show.
I’m sure she was treated with great kindness by the theater staff and medical professionals who responded.

Timing is not your forte here. Wow.
My nieces are in town to see the show this week. I know Megan's covers will be amazing, but I'd hate to think she's too ill to continue on.

As far as the debate over the merits of Team America: if it’s good enough for Sondheim, it’s good enough for me.
