Let's see if Broadway can appreciate Frecknall's style this time around."
Agreed, their performances (particularly that of Anjana Vasan as Stella overshadowed his). I'm not sure how NYC would react to this production, though. I wasn't entirely sold by it, although the London critics were. I can't remember what it was now, but I remember there were some cuts to the text (particularly in the final scene) that annoyed me.

I believe at one point Meghann Fahy was rumored for Blanche (I’m mid on that), but that was when it was rumored Mescal was being replaced with Taron Egerton

This is all about Mescal. Sounds like they wisely decided to wait it out.

This will definitely need a new Blanche BUT if they are staging this again in London pre NYC, they will invariably have to ask Ferran again. Let’s hope she’s busy
I have never seen a produciton of Streetcar on stage I have really enjoyed. First, for me... it's impossible to get the movie out of my mind. I can't help that.
The problem I have seen is that ALL four of the leads have to be equally as wonderful. I saw the Blair Underwood. He was great... the Blanche was awful. I saw the Alec Baldwin production and that was a big miss too. I could barely hear Jessica Lange. Alex Baldwin seemed underwhelming to me.
Unless you have FOUR actors that are all equal, this play doesn't work for me. Just my opinion.
Well if you’ve never seen a production of it you liked, this one sure won’t change your mind. Frecknall doing the “my vision is a bare stage with hardly any lighting and the world shall say i am brilliant” and it just doesn’t work (for me).
London tix go on sale this week. They are literally rushing this to BAM. There’s just 6 days between the West End production closing and opening in NYC. That’s gonna take a lot of of the cast!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
Yes, it's now up on the BAM website. February 28 through April 6. The West End remount finishes on February 22 so that is a very tight turnaround for everyone involved.

I am very excited for Streetcar - but Kosky's The Threepenny Opera is the show I'm most looking forward to in 2025. I had hoped this would transfer but wasn't confident, what a bit of great news!
