The only pathetic thing is that comment. Mental health and someone’s well being will always be more important than a job.

I assumed her doing the show enabled them to extend 5 more weeks. Now, they'll lose a ton of money for those 2 weeks she's not there.

I can't think of almost any other job where "I just had an emotional breakup" would be a legitimate reason for not fulfilling your work obligation. If I were a producer, I would NEVER hire her again

She’s using her breakup as a cop out. She doesn’t have the stamina for 8 shows a week, she didn’t understand what she was signing up for, and now she’s dipping out early because she can’t handle it. Like I said: bye.

This board is never beating the mean and nasty allegations. Never.

What are the odds closing moves up as a result? Lots of people on social media complaining asking for refunds (because again, these are a newer group of ticket buyers…)

I only hope that she has a good reason for leaving, even if she keeps it to herself.
If it's really over a break-up, I'd be really disappointed.
I mean, she got shot in the foot. She's made of stronger stuff.

The show is currently marketed around her and ticket prices are more than double the price to see her. Asking for a refund shouldn’t be out of the question.

Two things here:
1) The breakup here is also appearing to be a big pop culture news story. Imagine the potential safety issue caused by paparazzi and/or overzealous fans choosing up sides. Or going to sign at the stage door and have everyone feel sorry for you about your breakup.
2) Would you rather have had her take the cowardly route that Taye Diggs took and just not show up for your last 3 weeks AT ALL, forcing the show to call in emergency coverage from departed cast to make up for the loss since the Duke covers also cover a Christian who was injured and on a reduced schedule?

I'm sorry for her that she is going through this stuff. But I hope the producers lose a ton of money and this is lesson learned for the industry. Not everyone is up to the task of a life in the theatre. Stunt casting got us here.

As if Meg hasn’t headlined a world tour and has a good reason to exit the public spotlight. As if one of the most relevant artists in the industry needs to be “Zidler” for two extra weeks instead of focusing on her mental health
You old idiots are so funny sometimes. Sure let's tear down a black woman who has dealt with legit trauma in the last couple years because she wants to prioritize herself instead of playing some stupid character in the clown show Moulin Rouge. Seek help all of you

I hope she is well and gets the rest she needs. I also think people are quick to dismiss the negative impacts someone making a bad or ill-planned decision can have on others. Both things can be true. I hope she’s well, but she’s also screwing a lot of people over.

Right here. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons in the mix, but who knows what messages/threats she has been receiving. I still see the hate she gets online after everything with Tory Lanez.
I see a lot of support for a safe transfer of Evita (even if that means changing the balcony scene), and we should be extending that to all shows and performers. If the Al Hirschfeld isn't able to accommodate then this is absolutely the correct decision.

You think people don't use vacation days and sick days, and other PTO in order to take time for themselves when they go through something rough? Please. People do this all the time when s**t hits the fan in their lives. As well they should. Megan happens to be a public figure, but she still goes through things just like we all do. If my life was just upended, I probably wouldnt be able to fathom dealing with audiences and fans and all the "we're so sorry for you" at the stage door. It sucks. The timing is terrible. But I get it. She's human.

Anyone know if audience rewards tickets will be refundable? I redeemed at a higher rate to see Megan

where did I tear her down? And what does her race have to do with any of this? And by the way headlining a tour is not the same thing as doing eight shows a week

Vacation days and paid time off is not the same thing as breaking your contract and leaving contract early.

WTF are you talking about?? How is this the producers' "fault"???
PS -- There are TONS of "Broadway people" who will call out if they get a splinter in their finger --- they are out more than they are in (see cast of HEATHERS and GATSBY). Are they all the Producers' "fault" too??

The words you keep quoting me as saying are nowhere in my comment. I never said it was "their fault". I said that I hope they learn a lesson about stunt casting people who do not have the experience of handling a Broadway contract.
PS- Calling out and ending a contract early are not the same thing.
So... uh... WTF are YOU talking about?
