Called it! The casting is more exciting

This one is based on the original 1977 Broadway production, not the 1982 film adaptation that is quite different in so many ways.

Where did you hear that?

They didn't really say it, it's a figure of speech.

So excited for how FABULOUS "Easy Street" is going to be. I can already hear Titus and Jane switching vocal lines, and I will have chills.

"Playing the villain is always fun," Henson tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "With Miss Hannigan, there is so much to work with and dig deeper into. It's just such a fun and iconic character to play. Carol Burnett will always be one of my all-time favorite artists and biggest inspirations," she says.

^ Costume doesn’t look bad but the smile isn’t convincing.
Bad photo, but I see the potential.
Yikes. That fake smile and that $148 sweater from Free People is just hilariously weird.
It would absolutely suck to see this broadcast misguided given the amount of talent on paper.
Not off to a good start, but there is still plenty of time to improve.
Ouch! Looks like a Wal-Mart Christmas catalogue photo. WTF?!

Love the costume!
That pic is cuteness overload.
This already looks like a hot mess. NBC trying way too hard for diverse casting, it’s embarrassing. Had it been genuine, it would have been magical. But it looks like they’re checking off things from a memo sent by the highers-up. Even their first 2 promo photos are POC so it’s so calculated they don’t want to get bloods boiling. The transparency is so off-putting.

One of their promo shots is the titular character and the other is of the antagonist. Had we seen a Daddy Warbucks photo before either of these two... Now THAT would be off-putting.
Annie - African-American
Hannigan - African-American
Rooster - African-American
Warbucks - Caucasian
Lily St. Regis - Caucasian
Grace - Filipino-American(?)
Seems genuine than you're suggesting.
I’m sure the line-up of orphans will look like a Benetton ad. When you’re trying too hard… it looks ugly not organic.

Dude, are you serious? You really have an issue that these fictional characters are not all white? The orphans in the 1999 version were multiracial and Grace was a Black woman. Did you have a problem with those too? Geez. Black people were around in 1933. I'm disappointed you would comment like this.
