Who won Best Director?
And was that Susan Blackwell with Jerry (Michael Cristofer)?!

Thank God. Only 7 minutes left of this debacle...

I thought Tom won. But I'm not paying very close attention, either.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I love it.
I'm going to miss it. Flaws and all.

"Audra always wins."
I don't even know why Karen thought she had a shot.
And HOLY SH*T at Susan Blackwell as the mistress.

A fake name doesn't help that much if you're all over the media for writing a Broadway show... Sigh. I hate everything you choose to be, Smash.

I guess "The Big Finish" was the Smash creators saying bye, bye and was likely a last minute add-in knowing the show got canceled.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm sad for THE GATHERING STORM. Of course Brantley hated it, so...
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

"What letter is that?"
He had a big grin on his face after looking at it for about a half of a second, so I can only imagine that it said, "Let's f*ck," in big letters.

Ivy's speech was the most heartfelt and poignant thing this show did in its two years, also thank you for giving us Megan Hitly's saving grace performance on this show.

Steven Spielberg saw nothing in Megan Hilty, I hear? Well...

I was wondering that about the letter, too. I thought I'd blinked and missed something that revealed what it said.
So, so happy that Ivy Lynn and Bombshell 'won.' Of course they had to spoil it by showing Karen pouting. Jan Maxwell should have made a cameo and told her to get over it.

I got so scared Jimmy was going to propose to Karen when he got down on one knee.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

The only thing that would have satisfied me more would be Ivy winning for Liasons. But other than that, who won best director? Did I miss it or something?

I'll miss you SMASH!
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Was Rosie wearing the same pantsuit she wore when she was hostess of the awards 15 years ago?
