DAPHNE RUBIIN-VEGA?!?"
Rose is a young adult role. So, Leslie Grace or Melissa Barrera. Not that any of these names makes a difference, honestly."
***taps nose indicating closeness***
But Daphne Rubin-Vega would be a hoot.

This cast makes absolutely zero sense, outside of Marla and John reprising.

Oh don't get me wrong, she's a goddamn legend in my book, just not right for Rose. Now I totally need Daphne on stage in something immediately.

They’re gonna bring over somebody with zero name recognition from London for a featured role…?

I’ve had my ticket now for two weeks. Big smile. Jennifer Tilly and Daphne Ruben Vega. Should be quite interesting.

I was there for CEREMONIES FOR DARK OLD MEN. It’s definitely an old theatre. The seats are a bit worn down (bring a butt pad) and the HVAC is hit or miss, but there isn’t a bad seat in the house to my memory. Also, there are MANY stairs to get up to the theatre. (At least 30).
Not sure if New Group is willing or has the money/ability to upgrade now that the own the space, but we shall see

If the In The Heights clue points towards Stephanie Beatriz, she could potentially bring in folks thanks to her Encanto and Brooklyn Nine Nine following I suppose. I'm just not sure those audiences cross over with the target Broadway ticket buying audience for Titanique. If it instead points towards Melissa Barrera they could potentially add some funny references into the script about her not continuing with the Scream franchise...but Scream 7 will likely be out of theaters or in its last weeks by the time this show is up and running. I feel like Stephanie is the person who would really be the best fit for this style of humor though.

Melissa played Inga in the Mexico City production of Young Frankenstein, so she may have comedic chops unseen by US audiences.

Barrera and Beatriz both have some modest followings (Beatriz is also a voice actor for Hazbin Hotel, which has an extremely devoted cult following) but neither are going to be moving the needle much here.
I can't think of the last production that's had such... random casting. It feels like they're writing names on bingo balls and drawing them from a spinner.

Either drawing bingo balls, or making it further and further down the list of preferred casting

She's quite funny and charming in Your Monster, where she also sings.

West end is adding an intermission which I assume they’ll do here. I’ve always thought this is 15 minutes too long, but I’ve also been multiple drinks in when I saw it.

No, the Broadway version is 100 minutes with no intermission, as it should be.

I was at a Q&A Melissa Barrera did for the obscure movie Your Monster back in 2024, and basically out of nowhere, she started talking about how much she wanted to be cast in a Broadway musical.

Oh boy! I was right! And she will sell exactly 6 tickets!
What in the name of hell are they thinking? Do they think there are still millions of Jim Parsons fans or some sh*t? Wild.
