So funny you said this, I also just left the show and thought the same thing. Everytime she said “Leo” I was like… really? Odd choice."
She almost sounded English in spots

It’s a Southern mid-Atlantic accent. (Kidding.)
Her performance was stellar, but I spent more time than I’d like to admit trying to place the accent.
Just saw from someone’s instagram that they cancelled tonight’s performance while the audience was already seated. Anyone know the reason for the cancellation?

Yeah, just walking out of the theatre from the wonderful front row mezz seat I was so excited about. I’m genuinely confused. They told us it was canceled because the VIDEO wasn’t working. Everyone there would have happily sat through the show without videos…

That's very odd- how did they go from working perfectly at this afternoon's matinee to not working at all? I would have been furious.

I’m honestly flabbergasted by the whole thing.
I was there. They were late getting everyone in and then around 8:15 they said the show wasn’t happening. I’m from out of town so I’m a bit bummed out about it.
Assuming refunds were offered? That's an odd reason to cancel last minute.

Yeah, the people next to me had stayed in New York and extra night just to catch the show.

Considering the heavy use of projection on the back wall/platform … & with the times being in the house... I understand the cancellation.
Meanwhile, I’ve seen it twice already & will be going many more times. This one isn’t to be missed.

I quite literally flew out from Chicago just to see it. Luckily I caught it last night, but god, I can’t imagine the disappointment. Sorry to everyone who was there.
I had considered getting a tkts ticket and seeing this tonight. Thank god I didn't. I would have been pissed.

You can’t possibly be saying that the video projection is that crucial to the show that they can’t possibly do the show without it?

The show's design makes pretty extensive use of text projected onto the front of the raised platform to give the audience context of the current date (due to the time jumps) and where we are (since the scenic design is fairly abstract). Each time a significant character is introduced, an image of the real person and their name is also projected onto the back wall, in addition to its use as a backdrop for almost every scene. The entire ending also relies on the projections - we see two people in modern clothing visiting the park where the soldier is at the top of the show, while projected text explains that Leo Frank's case was recently reopened by the State of Georgia and is still ongoing. It's obviously unfortunate that they had to cancel but I can also understand not wanting critics to see an incomplete show, especially when its new ending wouldn't have been clear at all.

I saw Parade from an angle where I missed almost everything going on the back wall and I could still follow what was going on.
I'm sure some people would want to leave and get their money back but I'm guessing more people would have preferred to stay and see the show, especially if they're from out of town. Plus, with the critics, I really doubt any of them would file a review without seeing the the complete version of the show... so I don't think the technical issues would factor into what's written.
Unless there's an insurance reason where they'd save more money by canceling, it seems strange that they didn't plow ahead without video.
I haven’t seen the show yet, but it’s possible that video is linked to lighting, sound, automation, and music (click) cues, so it’s possible that the entire system wasn’t working, creating a domino effect for multiple departments and potential safety issues for many. I’m sure they felt it was necessary to cancel before doing so.

The press comes before the show is open…during the tail end of the preview period. This would’ve been the night for them to review the show & release said review once the show is open. It’s unfortunate, yes. But the press really need to see the finished product before being allowed to form an opinion on it.

I was also in the house tonight. Bought an upgraded rush ticket today around 1:00 PM and was so thrilled t to have a great seat for a good deal. I'm lucky to live in New York and will get a chance to see it in the coming days/week ahead. But I am heartbroken for the number of people I heard leaving saying they flew to see the show, they were leaving tomorrow morning, etc. It was honestly just a big mess.
Having seen the show from a pretty high-up seat at City Center where the videos were impossible to watch, it would've had no effect on watching the show tonight.
And all I can say about Feldman's tweet is.. yikes.
“Video” could have also meant video monitoring, like the monitors necessary for the stage manager to call the show, for the entire cast and crew to view the conductor, etc.

I went to today’s matinee and the projections were working fine. The show did start around 2:05pm though
A five-minute hold is standard at just about every show. Sounds like it ran smoothly for the matinee. It really is too bad about the evening show.

Yikes. Real glad I decided to buy tickets for Friday and not Saturday which I was originally planning to do
