This was sadder for me than any show closing. I really loved them and their podcast would make my day. I relisten to them and am really sad to see them go.
Emily deleted her twitter account just before (or on?) Election Day, I believe. I was always wondering what that might mean for the podcast, if anything, but didn't want to pry.
Man, that was a fun podcast.

I was very upset to see this as well. I've been an avid follower of them for years now and their podcast was my favorite part about Mondays. I will miss them greatly. If there was a falling out, then that'd make me even sadder.
Also, can anyone recommend other podcasts like theirs so I can fill the hole in my heart? Along with this board, they were my window to NYC.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

No, their just closing their Twitter account. And their blog. And their podcast. And their Facebook. But not their YouTube account. That'll still be active. Once a week, actually.

A falling out is really the only thing that would explain them ending things so abruptly.
I'm sad to see them go, but the writing's been on the wall that something was going on for a while. They stopped making video content all together after the Tonys this summer, which used to be the foundation of their brand. They kept up the podcast after that (which I loved,) but there would be weird times that didn't seem planned where they'd miss episodes with no warning. I believe they said last month they were taking a "mini-break" until December, but they never returned after that. It seems like they were trying to work something out and couldn't.
Regardless, they really had an amazing run. Their success is a real testament to what determination and user-generated content can do. Hope to hear more from them individually in the future.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
I would be shocked if it was a falling out. They have been doing this since 2009 and were even friends before that. I've been following them closely for years, and a couple summers ago, I know Emily went through some pretty heavy personal stuff. Also, did anyone consider that they just might not have the time? Filming and recording video reviews and podcasts then editing them takes a lot of time. This isn't their job, it was very much a hobby. I can easily see where life can get busy and crazy, and they have no choice but to end.
I have no inside information, but based on some of Patty's recent tweets, it seems like it might not have been the happiest of endings. Friendships end, people grow apart. It's a sad but true reality of life. Whatever happened, they had a pretty fabulous run.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Definitely listen to the podcasts.

Whoa. Can we stop talking about unfounded rumors like they're incontrovertible facts? 2016 has been horrible enough. I hope they'll find a way to put out content together or individually in the future.
