This is shocking. None of the show will be live until the very end. Not even the scenes where Roger is NOT in them. Wow. The acting is terrible except for Brandon Victor Dixon and the sound is terrible, so I guess it worked out. Unbelievable. What a disaster.
They just explained that because of the injury, theyre showing the footage from last nights dress rehearsal with exception of the last part tonight which will be live as theyve reworked the choreography to accommodate his injury. Im going to be generous and say that they performers dont feel fully committed to their performances because this was a dress rehearsal and wasnt intended to be the live performance. Not sure Im buying my own spin though. I was worried theyd ruin this and so far my fears are realized. Such as shame after they hit a home run with Jesus Christ Superstar. People who've never seen a staged production of Rent will watch this and wonder what the big deal was.

What is the final act? No day but today?"
I was at the rehearsal last night and he rolled his ankle right before the last three songs. It was right before the final commercial. He performed the last three songs on the table.

I missed that. I knew the original cast was to appear at some point but I figured maybe during a reprise of Seasons of Love. So are we to think that the final act will be in the original cast for all the roles without any of the new performers appearing?

Jesus Christ Superstar was aired on NBC not FOX.
In their defense - they are now forced to air a filmed dress rehearsal, and yes the performances may not be what they would have been because they were saving it for tonight's live broadcast. Too bad. This not good.
