Still lecturing people on here, I see. Hope this makes you feel superior to everyone, although in reality, no one asked for your prissy little lectures….here, or elsewhere.

This will probably be the most expensive show 2nd Stage has ever produced on Broadway (by nature of it being a musical and not a play). It's not like this is some easy cash grab.

The original production spent $900 on sets and $542 on costumes in 1960 and it ran in a little off-Broadway theater for 42 years. It’s the world’s longest running musical, and the longest running continuous show of any kind in the United States, which is pretty cool. It's a bit outdated, but I'm looking forward to their fresh take.

The difference between the the Hayes being a Broadway theatre rather than an off-Broadway theatre is fewer than 100 seats. I'm sure the space will be just fine for The Fantasticks; it's not like it's taking The Majestic.

They're both in other shows right now, but I would love Ann Harada and Zach Noah Piser to play one of the mother/son duos. They'd be terrific.
