I think she is doing lost boys...if they are able to raise the money,.

Do they have some big names for the leads to go into this? That’s the only thing that I think would justify even a limited Broadway run of this show. Especially in such a huge theatre.

She's not attaching herself to a flop.

And now the Shouty Oracle is mopping rumors from BWW for his socials…
Alexa, play The Circle of Life.

Prime season? This season is a dud. Nothing is coming in. The landlords would rather have tenants and make some
$$ off of concessions etc.

Musical-makers need to get over their passion for adapting 80's drek. It was one of the worst decades for film ever.

If anything, it's the opposite. He's who I first heard this from.

Why do people still listen to him?

Show me where I said that...you put it in quotes. You can respond from any of your accounts if you want. And they have 1 for spring which I told you about days ago.

I thought Purple Rain as the rumored show to be going in? No?
Another big showing going into a Shubert house, the Shubert only has 5 big houses, so is The Great Gatsby or Hell’s Kitchen going to announce? I would think Chess will extend, as it is selling well?

Purple Rain is postponed for now.

I feel bad for Vosk, she can't catch a true break.

Except for horror. Otherwise, agree.

BEACHES has been around since 2015 when they did it in Chicago. I think they've done nearly a half a dozen productions of it, most recently in Canada last year.
BEACHES has had three out of town productions and two different scores:
In March, Mike Stoller turns 93 and Iris Rainer Dart turns 82. Thom Thomas died in 2015.
Quite unusual for a musical to throw out a score, but it's happened before and was discussed here a year and a half ago.

I read some of the reviews from the Calgary run last year and they actually are pretty positive ? and assuming they made even more changes since then I think ya'll might be being a little harsh.

You have to take regional reviews with a grain of salt. The bar is a lot lower for them.

And that's a good thing. That show was in no shape to open on Broadway. It needs to be totally revamped by a new director. They need to keep Rachel Webb, though. She was fantastic.
MaxineElliott, please watch this embarrassing trailer and then tell me if you feel the same way because the majority of the quotes come from the audience being paid for their reactions:

Alberta in Canada has two big theaters that have been recently used for pre-Broadway try outs: e.g. Six, Hadestown and now this.
Theater Calgary runs under Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Carrie revival, Ragtime concert) who seems to love Lonny Price do their musicals.
I flew from Toronto to see this and it was embarrassing to octogenarian artists, they really didn't need these folks to be in charge (sorry for the ageism but it's true). The music and script are dreadful. I see no point on doing Beaches and base it solely on the novel and ignore the film exists. Good or bad, the songs are niche cult hits, but only Wing Beneath my Wings remains.
Vosk does work hard and won a Betty Mitchell award for Outstanding Performance in a Musical that year, but the production failed to pick up much else.
The only point of a Broadway run is to try and promote it to dinner theaters or retirement home productions.
