According to IDBD, Thiessen was in Pretty Woman and understudied the lead male roles in that.
Jacoby is the son of Mark Jacoby, a Tony nominee that is currently in Chess on Broadway.
I'm curious who theyget to play the mothers, could be a nice check for a veteran actress looking to do Broadway for a limited run. Lainie Kazan could reprise her role from the film! I picture someone like Nancy Opel! What is she up to?

Well, now it's the next Hamilton with those two! I've seen no marketing, no promo events, no buzz at all for this one.

I'm hearing Debbie Gravitte is playing one of the mother's :).

I’m actually surprised at how many middle aged gays keep talking about this, wanting to see it. It could be a sleeper hit, not necessarily the catastrophic flop people seem to be anticipating.

If any of them want to bet on it, I'm in!

I really want them to give the elder Jacoby a Tony for “Princess Track of the Year”, to be presented by HwaBoon.

I’m 35 and had never seen the movie but it’s one of those titles I’d always heard of, I watched it the other day and it’s pretty great! Actually surprised it took this long to make a stage version. It’s a period piece and spans several decades of time so getting the appeal of the younger crowd will be their key to success.
also Debbie Shapiro Gravitte would be great!!

Newcomers Samantha Schwartz and Zeya Grace will play Little Cee Cee and Little Bertie, respectively.
Bailey Ryon (one of the original Matildas) and Emma Ogea (Broadway debut) play Teen Cee Cee and Teen Bertie.
There are 4 other individuals completing the onstage company, with 7 covers.

Do we know if this is also the cast that is expected to tour?

Probably not.

So this is why Paul Adam Schaefer left Masquerade.

Will it be Johnny or Adam who titles their review “Beaches beaches”?

Many are assuming the songs from the film like “The Glory of Love” and “Otto Titsling” are in this unaware that’s it’s an entirely new score with “Wing Beneath My Wings” being the only crossover from the 1988 film. People is gonna be pissed, y’all.

2-for-1 tickets to select previews will be up for grabs when the box office opens Monday, March 9 at 10 AM.
Vosk and Barrett will be there, and the first 50 people on line will receive a special tote bag full of beach day-adjacent items.

Wow. Is this the first 2 for 1 offer in box office opening history? I know there have been $17.76 style tickets (or was it $19.85 for American Psycho) which may equate to the same thing.
It depends on the usual price of the seat I suppose. A $20 seat in the rear balcony is different from buying two $250 seats for the price of one.

Orchestrator Charlie Rosen just posted that the show will have a 19-piece orchestra, including a live harp.
Which is great news for Live Music heads, and disastrous news for the show’s running cost. If the offering docs went out with a smaller band estimated, there will be a lot of unhappy investors!
Any word on TITANIQUE’s band size? They had 4 off-Broadway, and the St. James house minimum is also 19. I’m sure the producers petitioned for fewer - BRING IT ON successfully got 7 and AMERICAN IDIOT got 8.

They certainly petitioned and were certainly denied. I believe it's going to be 19-pieces, or just under. Strings on strings -- which skyrockets my interest in another evening of THE Pop Ballads

Do we expect the lead cast to perform on Tony day at 3? I have tickets for the 7th and I’m wondering if I should try to move them if I want to see Vosk.
-Jeff Bowen's worst onstage line flub.

Why wouldn't they?

I would always avoid performances on Tony weekend for musicals that are nominated/performing. There are so many extra rehearsals and a high-pressure performance, and nominees will resist calling out during the voting period (for obvious reasons).
But if you actually want to guarantee seeing the show, go in previews, since there’s no certainty it’ll be running in June.
