If this does come to NYC, I’d be surprised I’d they don’t switch out some of the actresses for bigger names.
I feel like this suggestion doesn't understand the show. It's an ensemble in the truest sense of the word. Everybody gets one song and nobody stands above the others. It would upset the balance of the show to have "names" in some parts and not in others. AND it looks to be a pretty hard show to perform. LOTS of dancing and back up, only leave the stage twice, lots of singing and sweating. I'm not sure what would attract someone with a "name" to a role.
Additionally... the ladies playing Anne B, Jane, and Anna are just extraordinary. I can't imagine anyone better.

I sorta feel that way about all of them from the original Chicago cast. To me, they've all become rather iconic in their respective roles. That being said, I'd LOVE a studio recording of the songs performed by some of the stars who inspired the characters. Can you imagine how fast that CD would chart? I'd thrill at the chance to hear Beyonce sing No Way.

I would love a studio recording of the songs. I think it would be huge. I hope they keep the Chicago cast intact for its New York transfer. I am also hoping that what I read in the other thread about it possibly going into New World Stages is not true. The show deserves a broadway run. But what do I know... I am still shocked they are letting the property play on a cruise ship.

If that studio recording with the real Pop Divas who inspired the songs ever came into fruition, it would be ICONIC. Speaking of the stars, I remember reading who each queen was based on, but I don't remember where I read it. From what I remember it was something along the lines of:
Catherine of Aragon is Beyonce
Anne Boleyn is ???
Jane Seymour is Adele
Anna of Cleves is Rihanna
Katherine Howard is Britney Spears
Catherine Parr is Alicia Keys???
I always forget who Anne Boleyn and Catherine Parr were based on, sooooo who were they based on? LOL
Per the UK Programme, the following are the inspirations for each Queen's song:
Catherine of Aragon - Beyonce and Shakira
Anne Boleyn - Lily Allen and Avril Lavigne
Jane Seymour - Adele and Sia
Anna of Cleves - Nicki Minaj and Rihanna
Katherine Howard - Ariana Grande and Britney Spears
Catherine Parr - Alicia Keys and Emeli Sande

Kind of interesting that of all of those inspirations (and who would perform those songs on the fantasized star/studio album) I think Anne Boleyn's has the widest range. In addition to both Lily Allen and Avril Lavigne, who's influence I heard from my first listen, there's also a lot of Katy Perry in that sound, and even some Megan Trainor (and I would pursue any four of them for said fantasy album).
I always assumed "Heart of Stone" was inspired by Celine Dion's power ballads. It certainly sounds like it.

I thought I was the only one. Abby sounds very similar to Celine so the resemblance is uncanny.
The song may have been inspired by Adele but the vocalist on the concept recording does riffs that are much more Celine Dion like in their range and style. I'm not actually sure Adele singing the song would be that impressive.

I feel this way about the West End cast, honestly! I'll admit I've seen nothing but the megasixes from the Chicago cast but the West End cast is absolutely fantastic and I cannot imagine anyone better than them, which is a shame because there's no way that cast ever ends up on Broadway (I'd love to see them again without having to fly to London).

The Chicago megasixes are so much fun! I just listened to this great review of the Chicago cast that makes me hope they all transfer to Broadway. https://t.co/djswyHIchf

Honestly, I'd love to hear Pink perform that one. The way the song progresses from pop to rock/punk at the end, it requires someone with an edgier sound than someone like Megan Trainor.

In the few numbers I've seen of the West End cast, I think the Chicago cast sounded better vocally and put more personality into the characters. I was sort of deflated when I saw the West End Anne Boleyn after having seen the show in Chicago first. The actress in Chicago is HILARIOUS and sings the hell out of it, especially with some incredible riffing at the end.
Interesting, I was planning on coming into town this weekend to catch one of the last shows Hicks was performing in. A day or so ago there were plenty of tickets but in the last day a healthy number of the rest of the run (including this entire weekend) sold out. As of tonight, only closing weekend has availability. Guess I should have bought ‘em while I had the chance...but glad I saw it a few weeks ago at least!
Saw this in London. Not sure what people have said here but no way ever EVER will this or should this come to Broadway. Sorry folks but this is an interesting show that will never appeal to wider audiences. If you can see it. See it. Otherwise. That’s it. Anyone who invests in this for Broadway is misguided.

A nice off-Broadway run, perhaps, sounds ideal. Also, how funny are these lyrics?

Went from major to minor, C to D
I tried recommending a coworker to see SIX before it left Chicago and it looks like the entire run is sold out!
I hope it has a strong life next year.
How big is the theatre? Maybe I’m wrong and it will be a hit.
I am obsessed with this cast album and would love to see it have a great run in NYC.
I think its about there same size as the Hayes theater just over 500. This week they will seat 5,000 people for a fully sold our run, Then they go to Boston where its 90% sold out in a 550 seat theater to see the show soooo I think it's going to be ok. Thank you for you opinion.

It’s going to Broadway but with all the houses available suddenly the producing team keeps changing their mind, I’ve heard.

I personally think that to create a major NYC 'buzz' they'd be better off having a 3 month run somewhere Off-Broadway, before heading in. A short sold out run would create a massive demand for tickets ON Broadway.
But I think with all the available theatre (and no doubt the theatres are clambering for it) they're probably just going to open cold.
It WILL get great reviews, I've yet to see a bad one for it from any production. There WILL be a huge buzz around it, there already is after it's London and out of town runs.
The Cast Recording is already extremely popular with tonnes of people who haven't seen it and there is no way it is going to fail. Wain eventually, yes. But stumble out of the gate, not a chance!
