Anyone have any insight into what the front row seats are like? is the stage elevated etc. The price for those front row seats are less than the other seats and was just wondering if the view is difficult or have to look up etc. thanks for any information.
I don’t think front row is too bad there. You have to lift your head a bit but in my experience it’s better than a lot of other theaters. Of course I haven’t seen this show in this space yet so I don’t know if there’s any set pieces that block action and that’s why prices are different but as a general rule, the seats aren’t bad there.
Just extended to June 15!
I was also wondering about those front row seats. They are available at all the performances that I am looking to attend. I think I am going to take a chance on them. Famous last words. How bad can they be? :)
The stage is pretty open, and the set is largely static with some drops and such, but at the risk of spoilers, the Sweeney Todd section has a significant set change where the playing space is very center and quite narrow, so that may have some partial views from the close sides.

I hope I don’t miss too much, as our seats are in the third row on the side, 3-5 seats in from the far left. I’ll find out in a couple of weeks.

I'm curious about that too. In my previous trips to the Friedman there's been little or no individual show merchandise, but I suspect that might be different for a higher-profile production like this one.
Maybe I'm over interpreting, but the language about the two-week extension is careful not to suggest it's 'closing' June 15. For example on the MTC website it says it's 'extended through June 15'. Surely if it was definitely closing they would say "Must close June 15" to move more of those outrageous $400 orchestra seats. I wonder if we might see further extensions.

I think Cameron will keep it running if he can, and replace people as and when they might need to leave for other projects. He hasn’t had a NY smash in years so will ride it as long as possible even if it means moving it. The Imperial and the Broadhurst may be available soon enough!

If it were to become an open run it would need to move since MTC has a fall show scheduled.
If this is like other Broadway nonprofit runs, the initial run is not a commercial production and will be on a less expensive LORT agreement. Any extensions will convert to the production contract and expenses will drastically increase.
Saw the show here in LA several weeks ago. It was fantastic!!!

I thought the same thing when they announced another musical theatre giant retrospective show. PRINCE OF BROADWAY was an unfortunate listless production. This is everything that show was not and so much more. The talent on that stage, the design, the orchestrations, it all just is outstanding with true giants of theatre making magic happen: it’s the first musical I have seen in that theatre that is not a tiresome slug. It really is a magical gift that feels heaven sent for musical theatre lovers .
How’d tonight go?
A really great night. I think they’ve adjusted some music for Bernadette from London so it suits her voice a little better now, she seemed much more comfortable than the last time I saw this. It’s pretty much the exact same show as was at the Gielgud but I had forgotten the act one closer was the finale of “Sunday” and when Bernadette says “Harmony…” I just started crying. Such a thrill to see her live and recreate even the smallest bit of that performance.
Thank you Jordan. I understand they have evolved "I Know Things Now" to include a section from "Bounce" - was it this or other changes? (I Know Things Now didn't always sit the best in Bernadette's voice...did they chop/change some of the difficult passages?).
Also, I notice they have opened up quite a few prime orchestra seats for tonight's performance. If anyone has any speculation of where they came from would be interested to know (e.g. subscriber exchanges; seats previously comped changed etc.)

Can anyone who sees this show let us know about the merch? I have tickets in late April.
Have the song selections changed since Los Angeles?

There were CDs, mugs, shirts, programs sold downstairs last night.
Binau, yes including the "Bounce" material for her, I felt was a very good choice.
Merch, I know they have mugs, keychains, shirts and programs (for $30 those are crazy expensive) and maybe a couple other things I didn't notice. No posters yet.

I'm not seeing tickets for the 8th appear with this code. Any advice?
