Margo, sorry, but the very first HELLO, DOLLY revival on Broadway was with Pearl Bailey and Billy Daniels, in 1975. The next two revivals starred Channing, in 1978 and 1995 respectively.
There was a fabulous production this summer at Papermill, starring Tovah Feldshuh giving a revelatory performance.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
BRIGADOON has been revived several times, although the last Broadway revival was 27 years ago.
PAL JOEY has also been revived several times, the last Broadway incarnation even longer ago, in the mid-70's, I believe.

Gasteyer would have an interesting choice about a decade ago (though not a big enough name to get the gig), but now, at 40, is a bit too old for the role (remember Brice is in her late teens at the beginning of the show).

I know currently that really aren't actress to play Fanny but I would love more then anything to see FUNNY GIRL revived.
The score is so fantastic is needs to be back on the Broadway stage. With songs like "I'm The Greatest Star", "Cornet Man", "People", "You Are Women (I Am Man)", "Don't Rain On My Parade", "Music That Makes Me Dance", it just needs to revived.
I would love to see the full beginning of "Cornet Man" in the revival, but would that work? That song is one of my favorites on the cast album and Streisand belting "beggin' STAYYYYY" is sublime.
I know it was done at Encores and that it's happening at the Kennedy Center, but I think Carnival is a beautiful show that deserves to be back on Broadway.
Also, I would love love love to see Dear World be produced again. I think Roundabout could do a wonderful job with it, or it could at least be staged as an Encores concert.
And a question, I saw Carnival at Encores in 2002, and they took out the slap, which I think is an essential element of the show. Does anyone know if they plan on keeping it at Kennedy Center?
And if Off-Broadway were in a little better shape: The Baker's Wife
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Broadwayboy2631 - "The Wiz" was just revived in the West Coast and "Evita" just went on a National tour a couple of years ago. But, if the question is revival on Broadway, yes...those 2 plays have not been revived in the past 10 years.
I agree with "Funny Lady." What about "Oliver!", "They're Playing Our Song" and "Baby" on Broadway?
