went on a thursday around 830am. not a soul was there. by the time the box office opened at 10 there were maybe 7 of us in line. maybe it was bc it was a weekday, or maybe because of the freezing temperatures.... but just letting you all know. good luck! oh and the student tkts are $26 now
So....can u rush for fri and sat evening shows...And is just anyone eligible to purchase the tickets? If possible what time should I get there next weekend?
you can rush any show of spring awakeing. you have to have a student ID and cash. standard rush, 2 tickets per ID. rushing on wknds isnt as easy as weekdays (true for almost any show) so show up earlier than when the box office opens, and take into consideration the popularity of the show.

Just wondering where your seats were when you went on Thursday?
Or where the seats have been for anyone who's done SA rush.
I was all the way on the side in the 5th row. Most of the action takes place center stage so I didn't miss much, but I was uncomfortably very close to a pole. Still, can't complain for the price.

littlewing,
First of all, the box office opens at 12 not 10. Second of All I bought 4 student rush tickets with one ID so you are wrong there also.
Get it straight. thank you
outovfashion07, the box office opens at 10am on all days except Sunday I believe. On Sundays, the box office opens at 12pm.
I rushed this morning, they actually had better seating for the evening show than the matinee. (Or so the guy at the box office informed us.) I got there around 10:45, was in the middle of the line. From what I understand practically everyone online got tickets. (They also sold standing room on sold the spot for the matinee because they anticipated a sold out show.) I got seats on the extreme right of the house on row D. (Seats 18 and 20) I sat in D18, and missed nothing except the severe upstage corner on stage left, and the onstage audience in that area. Totally worth $26. So basically it's the extra twirling cast member for the large group numbers where everyone is leaping around onstage...and an ocassional backup singer. I can thinf of one scene where I wanted to view that corner, but imo, the corner of stage right was a riot to miss. (Piano teachers. <3)
Whe you say student rush does that apply to high school students as well? sorry i'm new to the concept lol
Yes. As long as you have some form of school ID you'll be fine. :) The guy in the box office was a riot..."and there's student rush--most of you look young and educated, well, young..." and he went on to say 2 tickets per ID..."have your IDs, cash, and let us know if you want the matinee or the evening show because the box office is neither young, nor educated."
Standing room is $26.50...and the view looks pretty good.
yep it does :)
so for a sunday matinee rush -- do you think getting there at 10 ish would be ok? or should i get there at 9? (box office opens 12 sundays.) i'd be with two friends, so we'd only need three tickets.
thanks:)
i think 10 would be fine. I got there at 9:30 on Saturday and the line was HUGE! it was down the street and i didnt think i was gonna get in. the fact that they do 2 shows on saturday totally slipped my mind, and i was quite happy about that. i ended up getting tickets and the show was great, but they were partial view way on the house-right side. I couldnt see the upper stage left corner, but other than that, it was cool.

My friend and are looking to do student rush on a Monday a few weeks from now. The box office starts to distribute tickets at 10 AM. What time do we need to arrive to ensure we get two tickets?
Thanks so much to anyone who can help!
Probably around 8:30 just to be on the safe side. I've heard it's not usually crowded on mondays.

Ugh, that is so early for me, but my friend is dying to see this, so I guess it's worth it.
Also, out of curiosity, how early should one show up on Sunday? We're pretty sure we're going on Monday, but not 100% positive. Thanks again!
Perhaps a silly question, but since it varies from house to house--are they strict about what form of student ID you bring? I have an expired ID card from a summer course and some ways to identify myself as a current student at my school, but my school does not issue actual ID cards. I'm guessing I should not have a problem...am I right?

My friend got there around 9:45 am this past Friday and got tickets no problem - row C seats 13 and 15 I think, partially obstructed.
Another friend went two or three weeks ago on a Friday morning, got there about 8:50 and got 4th row on the side, not obstructed (seats 8 and 10 maybe?). I went with him and I have to say that being that close felt almost like being on stage, but with a better front view. I haven't sat onstage at the O'Neil though - just the Atlantic ($10!!)
How has rush been lately?
I'm planning on going for the Sat. mat. and want to know time I should arrive.

bump!
I'm planning on rushing the show this Sunday and was wondering what everyone suggested about times. I've been keeping up with the posts so I was thinking 9am would be good, but since it was President's Day weekend I was wondering if people thought I should get there earlier? I've been debating since it's a holiday weekend, but it's also not the nicest weather and I wasn't sure if that would deter people from lining up early. How have weekend lotteries been lately? Thanks.
For a Thursday I probably wouldn't need to get there until like 9, or so? Right?

I went past the BO for the show two Saturdays ago....it was about somewhere between 9:15-9:30am when I walked past the theatre and the lobby was PACKED! There must have been about 25 to 30 high school and college students waiting for the BO to open that Saturday morning (assuming for the matinee).
Plan to get there early...better to get there early with only a few people there or form your own line with a cup of coffee than to be behind a crowd of 30 people.
Then again, every day is different, you never know...that was the only Saturday that I walked past the theatre.

Ok so I am planning to go to Spring Awakening sometime during the second week of July. How do you think it will be? I mean being summer will it be tons more busy? And also, do they still do student rush in the summer? Thanks to anyone who can help me.
