Forget the pool table..sounds like it's the dancing!!!
LOL..Thanks for the laugh...It does seem ironic. Still looking forward to the show.
Glad I saw the Norm Lewis/Jesse Mueller version in DC. In the final scene, Norm--frustrated with the stage band playing 76 Trombones on kazoos--blows his whistle. In through all orchestra doors marches the Univ of Maryland marching band playing 76 Trombones. They were in every aisle and along the back. The audience went nuts at the surprise.
Would love to see that at the Winter Garden.
"
I saw the DC production too. I remembered someone on this board said that ending was similar to the 2000 revival's. If that was true, I am actually glad this production is doing it differently.

Quite a few shows now and the recent past ( new Oklahoma!/stage WestSideStory/new Company, etc) have introduced some changes which challenged the original staging and most people welcomed then.

I am so happy to hear she's great in the part. I'm excited for her to be back, so we get more talk of her. I didn't expect her to be bad, but there was definitely a lot of mixed feelings towards the casting. Thrilled she's her usual wonderful self.
The show is once again on a COVID pause and will resume on January 2; Jackman will return on January 6.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Feb 5th!
George in DC said: "Will Max Clayton be going on?"
I would hope and assume so. Would be worth grabbing a cheap ticket assuming there will be a ton of cancellations.

Per Telecharge: Mr. Jackman will not be appearing in THE MUSIC MAN on the following dates:
January 2 - 5, 2022

I was just checking the dates and they haven't lowered the prices. While I understand that from a strictly business perspective, from a common sense perspective it makes no sense. Those prices are insane to not have the star present.
Yep I also checked tix for Jan 2-6 and they're still selling orchestra seats for $699. I wonder if we'll see Music Man on TKTS.

50% off reduces the price down to $350.

Max also has covid, according to his IG, so I don’t know who’ll be Harold 1/2-1/6.

There are going to be a LOT of unhappy theatregoers arriving at the Winter Garden.
Considering the number of cancellations so far, I would be very surprised if the performances on the fourth and fifth went on.

Thanks, Jordan, i didn’t know who was next in line.

It looks like Max has taken down his post on Instagram. Not sure why but I would love to see him in this role.

I keep checking TDF to see if THE MUSIC MAN pops up for performances during Hugh's absence.

One of the merchandise sellers at the Winter Garden wrote a scathing Twitter post about the working conditions on and off stage at the theater. He said there were 14 actors out yesterday as well as crew, wardrobe, musicians, etc., and swings were split tracking up to 5 roles.

So Rudin is still pulling the strings?
