I'm still stoked that Lin won.
Exactly Liverpool, exactly.
I love all those "SP" songs, but I wish Kelli had had a little more time for "Wonderful Guy."

I hope In the Heights wins Best Musical. I haven't seen it yet, but................
Lin really looks like he LOVES what he is doing and I think they deserve it.
I'd like to see Patti try a cartwheel during Rose's Turn.
And that was her yelling after EVERYTHING'S Coming Up....
She's so bossy.

I like Kelli O'Hara as well. I gained a lot of respect for her in The Pajama Game. I saw it early on and it was stiff, really stiff. By the second time I saw it, you could see that she and Harry Connick Jr. were working much better together and she'd gotten some of the stiffness out of most of the scenes. She did a great job in that, IMO.
Anybody else dreading the performance of Grease? I almost fell out of my chair when I read that Grease was nominated for best revival. It wasn't just bad, it was horrid, IMO. Probably the worst show I saw the past year, I thought...
South Pacific was a bit of a snoozefest. not really moved to see it. I mean lovely singing of a lovely score, but that presentation didn't comvince me it was as much a "must-see" as some say.
Stone me, but I wasn't that impressed with the South Pacific medley. Not to say the performers weren't great (Szot has a terrific voice, and Kelli was adorable) but the performance underwhelmed me. Maybe if it wasn't a medley I'd like it better.
LOVED the South Pacific montage. Kelli O'Hara had me sitting here grinning like a little school girl.
Great, Lin-Manuel.
I'm also in the "not a hiphop or rap" camp, but In The Heights is something to see, I really enjoyed it.
Kelli - sounded nervous, but still spectacular.
Lin's rap acceptance speech is cute!
SOUTH PACIFIC- I love love the number. Nick Mayo -the blonde guy that showed his calves is so cute.
Paulo Szot has a beautiful voice! so in love with his voice...
CONGRATS to Lin Miranda for winning BEST SCORE!

SP was a nice performance, but I wish that Matt would have been in it.
I am also dreading Grease.
Whoopi as Mary Poppins is priceless!

Well that is what South Pacific really is. A beautiful story inside some timeless songs... with a great cast currently on Broadway. I liked the medley because it gave the opportunity to showcase all of the Tony nominees. If they had only chosen one song, it couldn't have showcased all three of them.
Now THAT entrance was great. The "Phantom" one left me unimpressed. But that "Mary Poppins" one was hilarious.
