THE INHERITANCE won Best Play; in-person is ahead
Andrew Garfield looks so fine, great color on him. The Inheritance wins for Best Play. Very well deserved.
A Soldier's Play was the last show I saw before the shutdown. Really forgot how weak the play revivals were that this actually won.

So they're bringing back Slave Play...and it won nothing?

I'd consider this a small upset.

JUMPING ON MY COUCH SCREAMING!!!!
No idea if they are bringing back Slave Play. I hope they bring back The Inheritance and A Christmas Carol, though.

Well deserved. Wish it was coming back like Slave Play is.

I’d say it’s a big upset, considering The Inheritance flopped pretty hard, both critically and in terms of box office.

Having so many regrets about not seeing The Inheritance.
Just think - Beanie Feldstein will be on the Tonys stage next year, belting her face off with "Don't Rain on My Parade".

"Move On" was painful, especially knowing how close Jake and Annaleigh were.

You missed nothing that was not done and done better by The Normal Heart and Angels in America.
Well, I adored “The Inheritance” every single time I saw it.
Very happy for The Inheritance. A spellbinding 7 hours

Anika is wonderful, as always. I don't like Ben's voice on this. it feels too thin.
Justice for Jake and Annaleigh! Their "Move On" was so gorgeous both live and on recording.
Platt is no fit for Sunday.

Jake is right there, why is this happening…

Whatever you did with those 7 hours was a better use of time.
Ben Platt is a wonderful stage performer. It doesn't quite translate to the small or big screen, but singing live on stage he is just brilliant. Everyone has been sh*ting on his movie for like a month, I forgot how actually talented he is.
Gorgeous duet with him and the very beautiful Ms.Rose.
Loved Anika and Ben. Thought they sounded wonderful together. I just hope we can get her and that voice back to Broadway.
Loved Anika in "Move On". Ben Platt not so much.

Knowing the luminous Ms. Ashford and Mr. Gyllenhaal were in the house this evening made me wish it was them.
Beautiful duet, Odom and Groban.
Kudos to Charlie Alterman for this gorgeous arrangement of "Beautiful City" for what was a God-awful Godspell revival.
Was that Ben auditioning for a SITPWG film that should clearly star Gyllenhaal?
Unless my math is wrong, did Slave Play go home completely empty-handed? Was anyone expecting a The Inheritance sweep, except for the exceptionally deserving creative wins for A Christmas Carol?
