American Idiot isn't the type of show that is going to translate well to Radio City Music Hall and a mainstream - sort of - award show. You could see this from the intro. American Idiot was actually quite good and is definitely not Spring Awakening.

Actually, when I saw Rent in the first 6 months of it's opening...they did yell everything. That was one of my criticisms: I got tired of being yelled at.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

There were many making their debuts that were nominated. Now that I think about it: a freakishly LARGE number of B'way debuts.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
