Well, she did get herself into Harvard. Also, what she really needed Emmett for was to help her realize she should have a bigger goal than just get the man. I always thought she made too fast a transition in the movie from ditzy blonde to ambitious student. Instead of "get the man" it became "show the man up" which was less emphasized in the stage version (thankfully).
She does all the work and comes up with all the brilliant ideas and epiphanies. She does has a lot of people supporting her and being there for her, but who doesn't?
Actually she didn't get into Harvard on her own. Without the nerd sorority girl she would have gone to the parties she wanted to go to.
Same thing on "becoming smart". They make it seem like if she didnt have Emmett hounding on her the whole time she wouldn't have done anything. Nice for the character...
TWSFan, Nikki Snelson is only a Delta Nu in the opening number. Then she's off until Act Two.

I'm thinking about legally changing my name to Lizzie Curry...
Well I have now heard form 3 friends who are very casual theatre goers.. they all saw it on MTV and all bought tickets to go see it live. This is just what MTV and LB aimed to do.
I bought one of the song on itunes. I will prob eventually buy the whole thing.

Yup. 4 of my nieces friends who have no clue about anything Broadway just booked a Christmas weekend in NYC and got tickets to see LEGALLY BLONDE. One of them already went and bought the cast recording!
This telecast was the BEST commercial the show could have ever concocted. I'd love to see the show's ticket sales after this weekend for future performances.
Anyone know if Legally Blonde is really airing again tonight at 8pm? Playbill.com says it is, but it's not listed on my guide, but either was the 1pm showing today.
Anyone know if there will be a DVD release? If there really isn't an 8 PM broadcast tonight (as a few sources have said there is) I won't get to see it at all. My VCR won't record anymore (it used to; now it's dead), and I've got work & school during the next two airings listed on MTv's website (tomorrow at 7 PM and Friday at 11 AM). I hope there is a DVD release. We need more things like this available after they air.
Someone on another board who apparently has a friend who works at MTV said there isn't any talk of a DVD yet. Which really blows cause they aren't going to air it at all up here in Canada, stupid legal crap.
Does anyone happen to know who one of the 9th Greek Chorus members are in "So Much Better" so that there's a ninth person to spell "ELLE WOODS", since Nikki Snelson isn't on in Act One after the opening?
Was Nikki cut out of the Greek Chorus after the San Fran run?

this diserves a dvd release it would really hire the shows sells.but they probly don't want to take the risk were no one comes see the show because every one would want to stay at home and watch it because they already have a copy of it. now mtv just needs to do a taping of hairspray and wicked. I think it should be released. It would do smashingly great! It finished in Cali about 1/2 hour ago. I was dissapointed they changed Laura's last note in the Act 1 finale. But, overall it was 3.5 out of 10. I hope that Disney realizes how smart it would be to do this for Poppins or Mermaid.

Hoping I understood what you wrote I'm going to guess that might already be what happens. I don't think this is going to do wonders for ticket sales and LBB didn't come across great and she seems to be who and what the producers have be banking on the whole time to sell the show. It's pretty much failed them and I think this time, it might be irrevocable.
I thought it went pretty good actually. I mean, aside from the Hills girls who had no personality what so ever, it was good. I thought everyone did a great job INCLUDING Laura Bell. I think she's great which is obviously and unpopular opinion. I mean she was straining a little at some parts but after all that dancing and doing that many shows with no break, who wouldn't strain a little. I was kinda disapointed that they didn't fix the end of So Much Better though. But it thought her facial expressions were hilarious. Orfeh was incredible as always, and Kate Shindle was soooo great. EVerytime she hits that note it blows me away. Annaliegh was fantastic but I wasn't a big fan of Tracy and Asmeret(sp?). I like Leslie and Dequina(sp?) a lot better. Also, Richard Blake was pretty good, not like incredibly amazing, but good. Christian was good, Micheal was awesome, and Andy Karl is just the cutest thing ever. I didn't see much of Nikki because I was kinda watching it off and on since I taped it but I'm sure was fab as always.
The camera's jumped around waaaaaaay to much though, especially during Positive. But all in all it was good.
I am sorry I cannot really finish the whole thing. Seeing Legally Blonde onstage last April 22 was a better experience for me.. It was live.. I was at the Palace Theater and in NYC... This whole MTV thing seems soo fake for me... The whole audience reaction is just not natural for me.... though I am very happy that MTV did a step like this to promote Broadway...but for me .. still not a substitute for a REAL LIVE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE on Broadway.. Watching this show is like having phone sex ( sorry for the analogy ) Kudos ! to MTV .... I am happy for everyone who had a great time watching this....
IMO :
1. There were only few memorable songs. 2. There were inconsistency with the flow of the musical. 3. Orfeh was great ! that's it !!! 4. Chreoraphy was great .. Jerry Mitchell did agood job but not as a director. 5. Nothing against Laura Bell Bundy .. (she lacks something- she is not believable as Elle...she looks plain dumb to me , not intelligent nor Harvard material like Reese in the movie ) but I dont like her, so with the rest of the girls... ( not including Leslie .. I love her ) they are just jumping around and it annoys the hell out of me (oops sorry )
Overall- Its a cute musical but that's all ! I dont think I can watch it again.. Just not my type of musical
