Laura Bell Bundy over Kristin Chenoweth? TRAVESTY.
Charlotte D'Amboise and Orfeh over Erin Davie? A CRIME (but not a surprise).
How did LEGALLY BLONDE get so many noms? Oh wait. So did THE WEDDING SINGER, so at least it'll go home empty handed. AND at least we don't have to sit through a number on the Tonys.
Itty Bitty Geisha?
Toyland?
Gypsy Pasadoble?
Just a few popular favorites...
Congrats to Spring Awakening on it's 11 nominations, and to Charlotte d'Amboise for her nomination in A Chorus Line!

WTF? Charlotte d'Amboise and no Celia Keenan Bolger. No offence, but charlotte was really not good. And no Kristin?? I must admit I am pretty dissapointed. Marry Poppins and no Lovemusik????

Wow I had to barf about a dozen times. Laura Bell Bundy over Kristin Chenoweth?! That was absurd. And Orfeh and Rebecca Luker over Erin Davie was also dumb as well. *Eye roll*

My only bones to pick are that Spring Awakening was nominated for choreography over Pirate Queen, and that D'Amboise was nominated for A Chorus Line over ANYONE else.
EDIT: SOOOO happy that Cheno didn't score a nod!! YES!!! Also really happy for Stark Sands, he totally deserved it!!!!

Well, that's a morning mindf**k if I've ever had one.

I'm thinking about legally changing my name to Lizzie Curry...
I'm going to defend Brooks here. While John McMartin is great in Grey Gardens, he doesn't do much besides yell and be surly. Brooks Ashmanskas worked his ass off on stage and delivered one hilarious character after the next.
I'm sad that nobody from Company was nominated for featured actress. I thought all the actresses in Company were better than Charlotte d'Amboise (I'm surprised she was nominated), and any one of them getting nominated would have made me happy. Anyone else from A Chorus Line would have been better than her too. I also can't believe nobody from The Apple Tree was nominated for any acting awards. Kristin Chenoweth, Brian d'Arcy James, and Marc Kudisch were all fantastic.
yeah i couldn't believe that laura bell bundy got over cheno and ashley brown! i mean, i didn't love the apple tree, but i first of all know that cheno would have been better in legally blonde than bundy....she's just too old!
also surprised about spring awakening for best choreography. all it was is jumping. i could do that too.
surprised about basically all of the featured actress in a musical. Mary louise wilson deserved. Erin Davie should have gotten as well...Orfeh did not deserve to get over her...all just very very weird....
Ok - so question. Legally Blond was nominated for best book, and best score, yet didn't get a nom. for best musical. Mary Poppins got neither of the former but did get a nom. for best musical.
Does this not make sense to anyone else?
P.S - GO XANTHE!

Quibbler, I see your point. I just thought the Martin Short show was so stupid and poor Brooks Ashmanskas was in the middle of it. And I just didn't find Brooks all that funny. Tommy Tune on stilts? What's so funny about that? I didn't laugh once, except when the show was over and I knew I could leave.
John McMartin does have a small part in "Grey Gardens" but he does the most with it and also should have been recognized for his marvelous career, as many awards recognize people for their overall careers as opposed to one particular role.
