This is what was posted officially on Playbill Vault which, to my understanding, is going to be their design, at least initially until the monthly cycle comes around and it can be changed
"

But it is weird that the Richard O’Brien credit is everywhere else for this production but not the playbill cover.

I've noticed color difference issues on the Playbill proofs in the past, but it always matches when it's printed. That said, meh.

To me, the “break through” design just doesn’t make sense because a regular Playbill isn’t completely yellow— so it’s breaking through something that isn’t usually there. Unlike Titanique where she’s breaking through a picture of the ship. I like Lot666’s idea of a tattoo peaking out behind fishnets.

I did wonder if Rocky is going to come wrapped up in yellow wrapping paper, as a present to Frank?

Either way this is gonna be my first EVER Broadway show and I’m just stoked for the free programme

I think this is a genius idea!

The direction they went for their cast announcement was much more fun and a great starting point for overall artwork related to the show. Neon and hot colors is a much better palette. Doing that then going back to a primary colors key art shows no overall theme for how they want to market the show.

The original is deservedly iconic. The trouble with the other two is that they seem to be referencing the famous lips--which are a visual from the film, not the stage show. I like the new logo better than either of these two, though I'm still not crazy about it.

It’s trying to signal a fresh take without actually committing to a fresh take. It wants to look like a reimagining without alienating the subscription audience. It’s a hedge.

The red lips predate the film, though it made them the most famous: the stylized black-and-white figure with the red lips dates back to the Roxy production (which sometimes used a color version as well), if not earlier. If anything on earth is synonymous with Rocky Horror, it's the red lips, and I don't consider it a movie-exclusive image.

Disembodied lips never appeared as a signifier before the film and then the logo for the midnight movie poster (the lips logo wasn't part of the first, standard screening ad campaign).

CarlosAlberto: Not really…that logo design still sucks @ss…

I think it’s much better though. The other one made me think it was Rocky Horror breaking out of Mincemeat on the way to Jellicle.

This.

Maybe we might get a better one after previews (though I doubt it on Roundabout’s budget), but this is at least in the right direction of the show

I don’t mind them using a different font than the more traditional Rocky Horror look, it’s just the warping that makes it look like 80s Microsoft Word. Maybe that’s what they were going for.

It's cute but it's giving last century Microsoft Word, 100%.

Maybe they were going for a "Time Warp"?

It just kept rolling through my mind after reading your comment!

I spoke to a cast member yesterday and asked About audience participation in that huge space (something all my Rocky friends have been pretty skeptical about) and was told “oh yeah we were thinking about that but we’re not sure. I mean, people will definitely do it but this isn’t like the movie so it’s not encouraged or anything”.

And my heart just SANK.
