I really thought Emma was going to be cut this time. She may be talented but it's difficult to tell from these auditions since she is so NOT Elle Woods.
I also am annoyed by her attitude. She thinks very highly of herself.
Brian had sex, with a really dumb girl, now he's taking his friend Stewie, to get some ice cream, in his car.
Autumn, Cassie, and Bailey are my fave girls. I like something about Celina... not as Elle, but there's something in that draws me in. If Rent weren't closing, I could easily see her as Maureen. I think Natalie is hilarious, but I'm not rooting for her. She's a little too smiley? Maybe a Margot or Pilar for me. She's bubbly and ditzy enough for Margot, and I could totally see her doing a ghetto white girl Pilar. She doesn't seem sassy enough for Serena. We all know what's gonna happen to Lauren (if you don't, PM me ), Emma just doesn't have the sweetness or humor for Elle. All I see is "bitchy" and "catty." Um, Rhiannon is just there for me. I don't think she's bad, but she's too young and not talented enough.
While I enjoy Cassie, she does not particularly look the part. However I would not be suprised in the least if she is not announced for say... .Serena on the tour. Short of another "Max Crumm moment" Bailey is more likely than not going to win.

And if she "grew up in the biz", and went to school sometime in the last two decades, wouldn't you think she would understand that SMOKING IS BAD FOR HER VOICE?
Except that more people "in the biz" smoke than not, so what she would understand from experience is that it probably wouldn't hurt her in the short term.

I can't believe I'm into this show but.. Autumn is my favorite so far. Great acting, voice, and personality..so far. Least favorites are Emma And Bailey. Emma = arrogant beeyotch. Bailey = annoying. looks like ones of those daddy's girls who is used to getting what she wants. puts on this miss susie sunshine act when she is really the snarkiest of them all.
Only five episodes left of MTV's "Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods."
Don't miss out on this rare backstage glimpse of a Broadway musical! In next week's episode, the actresses meet "Chico", the dog who plays "Bruiser" in Legally Blonde, and learn the fascinating skills of working with animals.
Emma reminds me so much of that one catty girl that you have to put up with in the cast of every show who is totally impressed with herself, and constantly talks about all the great things she's done. Blech. Autumn and Natalie are completely adorable and also really talented...hopefully those two will make it far.
I feel like Cassie is really getting the shaft in the editing department. She sounded awful on the show, but the full performance was quite good (except for the last note). Also, what is with the judges asking her that if she doesn't think she should be eliminated, then who should? How is that fair? No matter what she says is gonna piss someone off.
Also, so many of the things the judges are commenting on are things that would be worked out in rehearsal. I can understand saying Emma is too harsh to be Elle Woods, but to say you don't like the way a certain line is spoken (I can't remember which girl it was) is stupid. Updated On: 6/17/08 at 06:23 PM
Yeah so I won't be shocked if Emma wins. because they are totally editing it in a way that is manipulating people to root for her. they made a HUGE deal about the cigarettes.
I think it's becoming quite obvious who on the show is getting a "winner's edit." It's becoming even more obvious who is not getting the winner's edit (Cassie S., Emma, Celina).
There are about three possible winners, based on what I can see.
I'm not so sure I'd say Bailey is getting a "winner's edit". As others have pointed out, she really is the cattiest of them all...stopping just short of being a total witch but then giving that little "you know what I'm saying here" smirk that is more transparent than glass. So typical Southern belle-Daddy's girl nauseating. (And yes, having grown up in the South I have seen enough of her type to know the drill. She ain't all peaches and cream.)

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
if you were to cast all of the girls in different roles for the future, what would you say?
Bailey-Dainty June in Gypsy Autumn-Hope in Urinetown Rihannon-Penny in Hairspray, or Philia in Forum Lauren-Glinda Cassie-Brenda in Hairspray, haha Emma-Evita Celina-Maureen in Rent Natalie-Kim in Bye Bye Birdie

Elle not only has to be believable... she has to be likeable, too. And Emma is anything BUT likeable at this point. I can't believe she even made it into the top 10 (I know, I know... she comes from a "Broadway family." She reminds us of that every 10 seconds). Her attitude doesn't make you want to root for her on this reality show. What makes anyone think hundreds of people would want to root for her on a nightly basis?
I'm rooting for Autumn first, then Bailey. Rihannon is cute and likeable as well, but I can't see her carrying an entire Broadway show on her back.
Bailey has the look.. Autumn has the talent and the audience appeal. I'd love to see her go all the way... and get through the tears she sheds next week (according to the preview). With all that said, I think she'd also make a great Sophie in MAMMA MIA.
Cassie is just annoying. But to her credit, at least she hasn't been pulling an Emma and reminding everyone that she had a role in the HAIRSPRAY movie. She's 19. She just needs to do a little more growing up.
This show has quickly turned into my newest guilty pleasure.

Funny you mention that, because according to her facebook, she has played Baby June before. She's got a number of credits, including Philia in ...Forum, Gertrude in Seussical, Kim in Bye, Bye Birdie, Annie in Annie, and Lady Bird in A Year with Frog and Toad.
I wonder if they're just concerned about pissing off Jerry Zaks and his cronies and potentially screwing themselves out of future work. That's why Emma has stayed as long as she has, even though she's completely wrong for Elle.

haha, sorry about the emma/evita comparison. i just think evita seems tough and so does emma. believe me, it took me so long to come up with one for her and then eventually i kind of gave up and gave her the first tough part i could think of.

Was anyone else suspicious that Bailey's little interview/commentary segments seemed to happening in a dressing room type area? It seemed as if they were filmed off location as if the show had already wrapped but they needed more for her to say. It makes me think that perhaps she wins but they felt the need to get her more involved in the show as a result.
