My thoughts exactly, it's not like playing to 75% of capacity is that bad, the running cost can't be that much.

When was this supposed to close? Could it possibly be too demanding Shaw? She is SO phenomenal in this role.

The nominations have nothing to do with the closing. The show has been papering like crazy...it's obviously been losing money, so they're deciding to cut their losses.

This is an amazing show and a great performance by Fiona Shaw. I was happy to see it twice. Pinhead is cute - wonder if he qualified for vet insurance through Equity.

If that which can't be named can no longer get shuttered Broadway show comps, I need to find a replacement. Can anyone message me with any replacements? Or can we name those?!

This was a harrowing work performed by an incredible artist and one of few highlights of this Broadway season. But WickedRocks is right: considering the amount of comps going on, it was only a matter of time, even had Fiona been nominated.

This is weird. Play gets nominated for a tony yet a few hours later, it is announced to be closing on this Sunday. It could be because of the snub for Shaw though.

oasisjeff, I would like to know about sites like the one that shall not be named. Maybe the poster who shall not be named has some advice but it would be best included in a PM so as to not offend other sites that do not want to be named.

Add me to the list of people to PM if such another site exists.
Though I don't see why "site that shall not be named" can't alter the way they work a little bit to possibly only offer the "big" shows via exclusive email invite to existing members. So that way a public announcement like what happened on here wouldn't be able to hurt the show in question since the offer is only for existing members.
Or there's always the option of finally signing up for a paid service...

This show had its problems, but I'm sad to see it go so quickly. It seems like nothing is staying open very long recently.
