It's not technically a revival if it's not on Broadway.

God I'm so behind...Been working way too much...I didn't even know Nikki M. James was Dorothy in this...Thanks for the link!
I love Nikki, I know she will be fierce as Dorothy and I hope they bring it to broadway!
Really hoping this show will transfer to Broadway in time for my trip up this summer. Nikki looks great!
this makes me so excited, she looks too cute.
Update...check out the updated poster for the production. Click on avatar to the left then click on "enlarge" located on the right corner.
Where's the gingam dress?
It looks really up.. high school-ish.

It's an update so the costumes aren't going to be what you might imagine, plus the press pictures weren't taken in full costume, as they had not been built. Anyway, gingam dress = the wizard of oz, not the wiz.
Thanks, Roses. I'm sure the costume will be different come show time. FYI..TV promo ads were shown last night on NBC(Southern Calif.)showing Nikki and the Wiz (David Allan Grier)in full costume with a grey wig. Background music was "Ease on Down." It's not Michael Jackson.
Set design update: The yellow brick road runs through the middle of the audience and the stage itself is transformed to include on-stage audience seating (courtesy of Robert Brill, scenic designer).
Performance update: 2 weeks of previews, Sept 26 - Oct. 10, Press Night Oct. 11th. There's a a party for donors on Oct. 8th. Show may extend to Thanksgiving pending sale.
AWESOME!! Can't wait! Taking a road trip with a bunch of the people in my program up to San Diego for it. I'm really really excited for this show!!
Cheers,
Christopher

That's hardly an update. This has been known for quite some time...
Sorry, CATSNYrevival...it was an update to me anyway.
I'd love the poster withough Nikki (she looks WAY out of place) and OZ:2006 (it scares me a little).
Um...a revival is a revival, Broadway or not.
I know the musical director. He will be able to get me in for free. He told me that this is a pre broadway tryout so i think it there is a great chance thus far of it comming to NYC
Her costume looks exactly like the uniforms my students wear.
She looks good, though. I hope this comes to NY...it sounds like a very interesting production.
i'm all about the Wiz. though i'd be curious to see where they'd fit it in with all these other shows still on Broadway
That skirt is like a longer version of the one my rival school wears.
She looks fab.

Well, good luck finding an available theater!
Yeah, I don't think this is going to come in this season, even if its a smash hit in La Jolla. There is no where to put it, unless THE PRODUCERS closes before the spring.
That's incredible. I can't wait for this to come to Broadway.
