re: The Wiz Revival Update

I love Nikki, I know she will be fierce as Dorothy and I hope they bring it to broadway!

re: The Wiz Revival Update

Really hoping this show will transfer to Broadway in time for my trip up this summer. Nikki looks great!
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

re: The Wiz Revival Update

this makes me so excited, she looks too cute.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

Where's the gingam dress?
It looks really up.. high school-ish.

re: The Wiz Revival Update

It's an update so the costumes aren't going to be what you might imagine, plus the press pictures weren't taken in full costume, as they had not been built. Anyway, gingam dress = the wizard of oz, not the wiz.

re: The Wiz Revival Update

Thanks, Roses. I'm sure the costume will be different come show time. FYI..TV promo ads were shown last night on NBC(Southern Calif.)showing Nikki and the Wiz (David Allan Grier)in full costume with a grey wig. Background music was "Ease on Down." It's not Michael Jackson.

Set design update: The yellow brick road runs through the middle of the audience and the stage itself is transformed to include on-stage audience seating (courtesy of Robert Brill, scenic designer).

Performance update: 2 weeks of previews, Sept 26 - Oct. 10, Press Night Oct. 11th. There's a a party for donors on Oct. 8th. Show may extend to Thanksgiving pending sale.

That's hardly an update. This has been known for quite some time...

re: The Wiz Revival Update

I'd love the poster withough Nikki (she looks WAY out of place) and OZ:2006 (it scares me a little).

re: The Wiz Revival Update

I know the musical director. He will be able to get me in for free. He told me that this is a pre broadway tryout so i think it there is a great chance thus far of it comming to NYC

re: The Wiz Revival Update

Her costume looks exactly like the uniforms my students wear.

She looks good, though. I hope this comes to NY...it sounds like a very interesting production.

re: The Wiz Revival Update

i'm all about the Wiz. though i'd be curious to see where they'd fit it in with all these other shows still on Broadway

That skirt is like a longer version of the one my rival school wears.

She looks fab.

Well, good luck finding an available theater!

re: The Wiz Revival Update

Yeah, I don't think this is going to come in this season, even if its a smash hit in La Jolla. There is no where to put it, unless THE PRODUCERS closes before the spring.

re: The Wiz Revival Update

That's incredible. I can't wait for this to come to Broadway.
