I called the box office to ask about the "unique layout of the theatre" that's mentioned on the website, and it's going to be 5 rows in the round, with, as was mentioned before, the first 2 rows being cushions on the floor.

The seating for Gold's Vanya at SoHo Rep was ONLY cushions.

Question for those who are familiar with this play and the creative team...I absolutely LOVE the cast and am considering getting tickets to this when they go onsale as I'll be in town during the show. However, I'm not typically the biggest fan of long, talk-y plays (e.g. Long Day's Journey Into Night). Do you anticipate this will be similar to that style or not? Appreciate the help!

I personally hate Long Day’s Journey and love Three Sisters - they are both very different plays, so it feels slightly blasphemous to say this. But to answer your question: yes, Three Sisters is also going to be pretty talky, and potentially long.
Priority tickets just went on sale. Rows A and B, which are floor cushions, are $54 on 5/15 - 5/17, $79 after that. Regular seats in rows C - E are $129 for all dates.
Thank you! Hoping to snag one of the cushion seats once they go on sale to the general public.

Has anyone heard about the status of this production, whether it'll open or most likely not? The CheapTix lottery window was suppose to open on TodayTix on March 23, but it didn't happen. I'm wondering if tickets will still go on sale on April 1st.
There’s no way this is happening anymore, at least not anytime soon.
This will 100% be postponed. Rehearsals won’t even be able to happen. And there’s too many big names involved to reschedule immediately. If it does still happen, it’ll probably be next season.
I was really excited about this but have to admit, with everything going on, it completely slipped my mind. I do hope they are able to reschedule in the coming season.

Theatre will PROBABLY be back by the time this was supposed to open, but it’s true, they won’t have any time to rehearse. Hope they get the chance to postpone with most of the announced cast! Kinda weird that NYTW hasn’t made an announcement considering tickets are supposed to go on sale in a couple of days and their website says nothing about it.

F*CK. Just got the email about postponement. No dates given (unclear if it will be next season)

And nowhere in that email do they mentioned about refunding anyone for Endlings or Sanctuary City
Any updates on this? I was shocked to see it back on NYTW’s website.

It's been on their website for over a year, unless I missed some short period recently where it went off and came back. They announced the 2022-2023 season (minus Merrily) at the same time as the 2021-2022 season, so Three Sisters has been listed there since then.
What really surprises me is that they're still listing the full cast that was announced before the pandemic. If they manage to retain all of them, I'll be really impressed. I assume they'll work around the schedules of Isaac and Gerwig, but I'm not holding my breath for Steve Buschemi, personally. Hope I'm wrong! I'd love to see him in this.
I guess I assumed this was long dead. I really hope Oscar Isaac stays with it.

Just saw that they removed the cast listing for this--no mention of any cast members, including Greta Gerwig and Oscar Isaac. https://www.nytw.org/show/three-sisters/
I don't think they've had a cast listing for this for quite some time, going back to when they announced it as part of the 22/23 season. Their website does state the following, though:
"We are working hard to confirm the cast for the 2023 production of Three Sisters and we hope that the full original cast will be available to continue on with the production. We look forward to sharing more in the weeks and months to come!"
I'd love to see Gerwig and Isaac stay with it (as well as a number of the other cast members announced shortly before the pandemic), but I'm sure NYTW is working hard to put together a stellar cast regardless of who's still available.
The originally-announced cast has been listed on the website this whole time, with a note about how it’s “subject to change.”

It was definitely there when I bought my membership in March, and for a while afterwards (presumably at least until JBroadway posted in July).

The cast had been listed as recently as a few weeks ago. With pictures of Greta Gerwig and Oscar Isaac. Sam Gold's Three Sister is exciting to me regardless of who is in it, but I would understand folks being frustrated indications the two leads might no longer be attached appeared only after all memberships had been sold.

Now if only they would take off Sam Gold's name...

I've heard the Gerwig is no longer attached due to the expected press commitments for the Barbie movie. No idea about the other previously announced cast members.
Not especially surprising, but it’s a damn shame. I would’ve rather kept Gerwig instead of Isaac, personally. I hope she returns to the stage soon.
